Re: Minneapolis City Politics General Discussion
This is like Fox News level bad. I'm not even outraged yet because I'm still shocked this isn't satire.

Re: 2014 Election
Honestly, I'm ok with the trains to cornfields and suburban big box stores being delayed. I'm most disappointed in that I assume this kills any hope of getting all the aBRT lines up and running quickly. If the Republicants actually do kill SWLRT, can we start talking about 3C again?

Re: 2014 Election
A Jeb Hillary race could be exactly what the country needs to get a viable third option. Probably not. But maybe.

Re: Video Games
Steam is great because it automatically downloads all updates and patches for you. You can also use it to save your games in the cloud. You should definitely get CiV but wait for it to go on sale. I see the complete edition for $30 or less pretty regularly

Re: Regional Service Improvement Plan
6 - Improve Downtown - Uptown service during peak hours to replace Route 12. How is that an improvement? The biggest problems with the peak downtown-uptown service is 1) capacity and 2) the buses stop every. damn. block. Takes forever to get from downtown to uptown during the PM rush as a result. N...

Re: Permit Parking
Exiled_antipodean and Twin Citizen, You're right about permit costs. I have come around on that. The city could and should charge a lot more for parking permits-- they could make additional revenue and plow that right back into street improvements, and maybe a few people will decide to go carless. ...

Re: Permit Parking
I don't know who annoys me more in this thing. The entitled NIMBYs who think they have a god given right to park directly in front of their house/apt or the entitled visitors from EP (basically Minneapolis's bridge and tunnel crowd) demanding free, abundant parking everywhere.

Re: Current & Proposed Downtown Minneapolis Projects
Remember this? It's beginning to look pretty legit. http://finance-commerce.com/2014/10/streetcar-line-stirs-interest-on-nicollet-ave/ South Nicollet I hear... is going to get a lot of development interest by some NYC developers. What, exactly constitutes South Nicollet? Not trying to push for more...

Those are all, and all of, Warner Properties buildings. Both the Oak Grove and Lagoon Ave properties are promoted as "landmark buildings" on Warner's website -- whatever that means. Not sure how that affects any redevelopment.
