Re: 3145 Hennepin - Lander Development
The floor plans have a lot of quirks to them, but the project on the exterior is really nice. Very curious about their egress code compliance on the upper floors haha. Must have been a couple *exceptions* utilized.

Re: Improving Metro Transit's urban bus service
Semi interesting tid bit - we all bemoan the slow roll out of aBRT but one of my coworkers was an engineer on the aBRT system that just opened in Columbus, OH (equivalent to the A-Line in terms of features) and he said that the engineering on the stations is ridiculously complicated because of the f...

That's a great building to renovate. And filling a long vacant lot. Both positives. The neighborhood support is refreshing as well. I feel for the residents being strangled by freeways like that though.

you must be really fun at partiesI think this design exquisitely captures the spirit of uptown in 2018. It's as vapid as everything around it. I wouldn't change a single thing.

St Paul apparently beat out Minneapolis for population growth last year. Good for them.

Re: Boulevard trees
Serviceberries certainly are hardy, beautiful small trees. London Plane trees come up a lot in various urbanist readings as a valuable street tree. That's the kind they just planted in front of my buddy's rental. When he told me I thought he meant "plain" haha. Hope it grows fast. House l...

Re: WaHu Student Housing - 1000 Washington Avenue SE
I wonder if the Dinnaken/OSU parking lot and then further down Huron grass lot weren't the things facing that western side if Huron would start to feel more like a street and less like a highway off ramp. Could help the retail if it were more walkable. Though I'm sure the real problem is probably ri...

It looks like tilt up construction and it is anchored to foundations so its definitely permanent. If it is tilt up, I haven't seen that used on a building like this, honestly.
Anyone else?

Re: The Capp - 46th & Hiawatha Mixed Use
For those who have been by this project lately, is it strange that they have a corner wall built up along the alley behind Falls Liquor before they have the foundation for the building in place? I wasn't expecting to see any walls above ground for a while. I haven't seen it so I'm guessing blind fo...

Let's focus on something positive - the goal of Portland becoming a residential spine is continuing. One less awful land use will be downtown. If the street frontage on this is awesome, it could be a great project. Walk up townhome units anyone?

Re: Art and Architecture Building Redevelopment - 3338 University Ave SE - 17 Stories / 195'
In a way these perspectives in the neighborhood will get their strongest test here, since literally this site backs up to R1A zoning, and it’s right by a park (don’t distract from the tower!) It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out with the neighborhood, but I’d guess the momentum is probabl...

Maybe this is a weird thought but I feel like as far as parking garages go, the one being torn down is one of the most attractive we have downtown.
