Re: Edina Crossroads Project - 7200, 7201, 7250 France
I thought there was an article in the business journal like 2 days after this was announced saying that it was a no go?

Re: Mayo Clinic Square
There was just a shooting in front of Seven on Henn. Some people still going to downplay these incidents? Ugh, so embarrassing and such a disappointment:(

That is a much better location for them! Lots more traffic...I'd like to see them survive.

Re: Thrivent's Surface Parking Lots
What will Thrivent's new HQ look like? Think smaller... https://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/news/2017/08/30/what-will-thrivent-financials-new-hq-look-like.html I am guessing it'll be short with large floorplates...and less square footage than what they are in currently. No idea what that article ...

I think the parking is probably intended for increased visibility....but maybe just for their own convenience, like you say.

I really don't...I do know they have been involving the businesses on Hennepin and having regular meetings...and I know are working on ideas to improve safety in that stretch. I just don't like to pretend it's not a problem or say "well it has only happened twice or X amount of times" and ...

Re: Mayo Clinic Square
See, that is the reaction it gets on here. No big deal, a couple bystanders shot. lol. I knew I shouldn't have mentioned it. Nevermind, downtown is great!! No problems here. I do like the increased police presence...Things seemed to have improved a bit with that. Sad that that is what it takes downt...

Can we please stop acting like crime is not a problem in this area Denial is not a resolution. Two bystanders shot this summer so far right by here, in early evening...that is not normal "you live in a city" stuff. So disappointing....yet rarely discussed on here.

Slow at this price point...if they could build new downtown for under 300k/unit they would sell out in no time.

Re: MSP Airport
I'm no strategist, but I feel like this is going to run them into the ground. We shall see...but the things they are eliminating are what set them apart...and apparently reduce their revenue. Couldn't they go in a more Southwest direction? Maybe they will still keep first class and some other things...

Not sure if this has been mentioned...looks like they scrapped that 11 floor office building. Fine with me, really.

Well actually...most of the land along Washington down in this area was railyards and some grain elevators..it was not part of the gateway project...was empty to start with.

Has the new apartment building under construction at 35W and 35th street been mentioned anywhere? Looks like the typical 5-6 story, says it has underground parking and a rooftop, studio to 3 br. Didn't think I had heard of it.

Probably wise...the hotel market is getting a bit saturated...we are starting to see a race to the bottom on rates as hotels try to gain occupancy...particularly for future group business.

I had a really hard time interpreting the plans as to actually how many bridges and where...and are the stairs connecting going in the atrium, or just outside? I sure hope when this is done they lease up the 1st and 2nd floor space to something interesting.

I think Kisa is closing...on the directory it now says the store name, but also "space for lease" next to it. Wouldn't surprise me...never anyone there, especially since moving downstairs.

Well i think that is preliminarily just a residential only area...so it is a bit different. And i kind of disagree with your assessment, because that area is surrounded by giant public parks and waterfront, and the Yaletown business district and transit station is a couple blocks over...but whatever...

I don't know...I think that vancouver neighborhood looks very pleasant to walk in? Did you look? Anyway, doesn't really matter...looks good to me though, I'd rather walk there than most of treeless big one way street NE. Lets hope this building turns out decent! I do like the added density, of cours...
