Re: Introductions

Well I didn't know this thread existed so I'll fill it out - My name is Josh and I'm an architect. Consequently all of my friends are architects and that's how I hear about things coming up the pipeline - because they designed them. I grew up in Milwaukee, hence the mke in my title - the first half ...

P.S. We need a thread on what our usernames means.

DanPatchToget? Tmart?

Or at least how you imagine your username is pronounced.
This.

And jobs. I'm curious if this is most people's hobby or life.

Re: Theater Garage Marquee Apartments - (Franklin & Lyndale)

Hey, construction guys! Is it possible to rescue a building with this sort of damage at a non-prohibitive cost? (And yes, I realized that "non-prohibitive" is a relative term.) They can shore up the foundations and stabilize the building, slightly similar to when Junction Flats damaged it...

Re: 80 Broadway St. NE

Rents are actually decent
Can you point me to where that is on the website? Or did you email for more info. In which case, what are the rents like?

The bedrooms are pretty small. I haven't seen a 7'-11" dimension on a new build in a long time.

1) I think the amount of housing units will be flexible - nobody will remember 15 years from now how many they were allowed. Maybe they will? Who knows.

2) I try to leave a positive comment on every urbanist strib article now without reading all the hateful ones. Its going medium.

Being able to afford those half floor / full floor units would be the ultimate life goal.

Gotta start picking all those pennies off the sidewalk...

Confirmed Amazon for a small building - still trying to be shady about the larger one but it seems pretty obvious

I honestly thought the revision would have dropped by now - so they could have a few days of staffed "replies" before the weekend. If it is later in the week, media has all weekend to really say what they want. Unless it is no longer going to be released this week?

Re: Las Vegas

As much as I would like to see that happening, I don't see it being likely since they seem to only be interested in routes in between 200 and 300 miles long and Zip Rail is either to short if you just go to Rochester or to long if you want it to extend it to Chicago.

A spec office building about to be proposed downtown. It looks nice. Don't expect much height, but its nice looking for sure. Should be shared soon.

Saw a rendering of a losing bid for the air rights above Central Station on the Green Line today. Can't share much but I'm hoping whoever beat out the kick ass design I saw has an even better design. Fingers crossed for an announcement.

Re: West Elm Hotel & Condos - 102-120 1st Street N

hmmm. I like the layout and the interior circulation. Materials- eh I think the materials are just poor rendering quality. You can see that the "limestone bands" are actually just a white fill with 50% opacity over the brick kicked out by the render software. Just some sloppy photoshop wo...
