I was thinking the exact same thing on my ride home this afternoon. Stops were jerky, we were slow to leave many stations for no apparent reason, and we missed many green lights that we normally don't miss. It added a good five minutes to a Nicollet-Snelling trip.

If I remember correctly, that skyway originally had a wall partitioning off one third of its width as a private passage for First Bank employees to pass between their offices in the two buildings. So, strange as it looks today, there is a reason for its incredible width.

Whatever we call it, I welcome it. Not only will we have a wonderful ballpark in Lowertown that I look forward to accessing via the Green Line, but the dog will no longer be traumatized by Friday night fireworks at Midway Stadium. Win-win.
