Re: Beltline Station Area – St. Louis Park
That's actually pretty cool as it looks like it was originally slated to just be a surface park and ride lot for the light rail

Re: Green Line Extension - Southwest LRT
The Met Council has managed 2 light rail projects to completion and MnDot 0, what am I missing here (re: Dibble's response)? Perhaps MnDot would still do a better job, but the fact is they have no experience with light rail transit. Pretty sure MnDot was responsible for building the blue line actua...

Re: Uptown-LynLake-Wedge - News & General Topics
I listened in on the master plan "listening session" for the Cedar Lake/Lake of the isles. Looking at the names of who was talking it was mostly the homeowners who have docks in Cedar lake over there and were adamant that adding any sort of path or board walk around the lake would ruin the...

Re: Green Line Extension - Southwest LRT
I can hope they're leaving all that time between construction completion and operations so they can underpromise and overdeliver. Either that or they're leaving wiggle room in there for potential future delays. The third option, which I really hope it isn't, is that they're anticipating that the tu...

Re: Green Line Extension - Southwest LRT
It was eliminated entirely at some point. The 100% plans still show a "Rail Support Facility" at that location, but it must just be for track maintenance trucks or something, there's no rail connection to the building. Hmm...no rail connection to the building but I do see there is a pocke...

Anyone know a way to report the speed limits shown on Google maps while driving. Plenty of the roads now 20 or 25 mph are still marked at 30mph. The other day I was on 35w in south minneapolis and it said the speed limit was 65mph!

What makes us random internet commentators more knowledgeable than a business owner about where a business owners customers come from? https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/biking-lanes-business-health-1.5165954 Some study on bike lanes and business. Also to address another comment, to argue its only up...

well looks like the Hy-vee is scrapped but sounds like they still have others that might want to move to the site. I wonder what else might want to move here

Am I missing something? I don't quite understand the routing up washington. It doesn't seem to server all that much unless the freeway gets capped an you have more access to the neighborhoods on the other side of the freeway.

Re: Northstar Commuter Rail
Honestly, it's probably time to replace service with a bus and return to rail when more downtown jobs are back in office. If the Met Council appears too uncompromising on this, Republicans will kill Northstar entirely when they take the legislature next year. I'm surprised Northstar/Anoka County cu...

Re: Green Line Extension - Southwest LRT
It sort of depends on what they're actually going to build at Shady Oak. I know it's not a full maintenance facility, but I'm not super clear what the ultimate plans are there. For this project there is no plans to build any train facilities there, they are building an expansion on the Franklin Fac...

Metro Transit is making all fares $1 for September and October and cutting the price of school and employer passes in half from September to the end of the year. It is supposed to encourage rider ship and also help provide information for a fare review in 2022 with the possibility of removing rush h...

Re: Red Line (Cedar Avenue BRT)
It sounds like the AVTS issue was just that Metro Transit did not have access to the door opener remotes. It sounds like they are acquiring them and working to program them so they can return to using the AVTS.

Those are really limited hours. I don't know how are business can support itself like that.
Good luck to them though.
If it is the business I am thinking of their primary business is baking mixes not this store front. But those hours are limited

From what i remember when the bus garage had the tunnel cut open I think the tunnel is just already lower than 94 at that point. The tunnel was probably like 15 feet below grade at the bus garage site

Re: Hennepin Avenue Reconstruction (Douglas to Lake St)
I think the more likely scenario we see is the city cutting up concrete to open up parking for vehicles while leaving the bike lane unprotected on street level. This is what I hope doesn't happen. I do think there should almost always be short term spots that allow for deliveries and pick up but if...
