Wow, they were really sneaky about that. Never noticed any construction going on in there.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News
Saw that the small, middle street level bay had the windows papered over this morning. Guessing that's where the Bonobos space is going.

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
A couple nice to haves in the neighborhood would be a proper bakery and an ice cream shop. Can you imagine the lines if Sebastian Joe's opened a NL location? I've lived in the NL for 8 years now and I've honestly never needed a bank. It looks like we're getting a clinic and pharmacy, which will be g...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
So it appears Rojo in the North Loop is already closed (formerly Shag Sushi, same owners). Its be great if some good Mexican went in that space. Nice! I won the bet I made that it wouldn't make it through the summer. Hopefully new owners can bring a different level of concept into the space at some...

Between those two buildings and The Maytag, there's a lot of cool restorations going on along Washington right now.

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
I might be remembering this wrong, but wasn't there a plan to build a tall condo tower on that corner before the crash? That must have included the existing building then if so.

The big windows are open. So at least you can see the back of the giant video board in front of them.

Didn't Bunkers have the same "argument" about the parking next to them that's going through planning?

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
Moving forward... it sounds like there might be something big planned for the old BZ space. Rick Nelson hinted that it would be a big deal and rumors are swirling. Something from a national brand... any ideas?

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
I find it fascinating when someone with a certain ideology runs into the actual implementation downsides from a business perspective and is forced to rethink things. It's a bummer that the independent restaurants have had such a rough go in the CBD, but I think it has more to do with the emergence o...

Re: 729 Washington Av N
I live in the NL and I can guarantee you very few who do care about "protecting Bunkers (parking spaces)". Most want infill and the services that come with it.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
Origami closing is a huge bummer. There will definitely be an opportunity for someone else to do sushi in the North Loop... and no, Shag didn't count.

Re: 729 Washington Av N
I'm sure it will feel like a tunnel at first, but only because right now there's a gaping hole on Washington where this is going. This has been the most obvious spot for further infill in the NL for years now... I'm glad it's finally happening.

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
Beat me too it. This is some really good news for us who don't really value sex world. In other words, the majority. Uh. I highly doubt that. Just because it's an adult business doesn't mean it isn't valued or seen as a landmark. I think the key part of his post was majority. Certainly there are pe...
