15th Avenue SE & 7th Street SE

Re: House of Hanson Site (14th Avenue SE & 5th Street SE)
Had a chit-chat with an employee of the store while strolling around. She indicated, as we all assumed, that the owner had been looking to sell since the UTEC plans with a grocery became unveiled. From what I gathered, the employees and the owner are not losing sleep over selling except for the loss...

Are they salvaging some of the exterior for future use? If not, why isn't this thing leveled yet. Of course I'm no expert.

Haha "hint hint" to those who can scale something like thisIt would be fascinating to see how a generic building that size would look in that location.

Re: The Bridges - (950 University Avenue SE)
I think this project needs something other that a retaining wall and a set of windows addressing 2nd Street SE. There's huge potential there, if/when East River Road is finally connected through to Main Street. I disagree. I dont think you would see a single person venture below the 19th and 35 bri...

Re: Downtown Office Market
We've been hearing about prospects for new buildings downtown and the one thing going against the idea of height is that there is ample land available. So why build tall? A majority of the ample land available is in the DTE ghost town. Would it be more price efficient to build shorter buildings on ...

Atricle in the Journal today: Link
No new information IMO. Results of the analysis should be released next month.
Is this study looking at how a new 1,000 room hotel could serve other events (besides conventions) such as viking games, etc?

Re: Downtown Office Market
Hopefully this is the right place for this. Sounds like FSN is relocating downtown in LaSalle Plaza. They had formally been across the river. Additionally, the article mentions a "giant LED wall" that is being built in China now. Does anyone know if this is going to be visible from street,...

Re: Mill City Quarter - (300 South 2nd Street)
Hmm, that is kind of ugly...I would be worried it would look a bit like Murals. I dont know....I think the street level glass looks kinda cool actually. A lot more open, and inviting. However, I agree that the upper floors aren't the best. Is this area considered the "Mill District" this ...

Re: Mill City Quarter - (300 South 2nd Street)
I too can deduce the reasoning for leaving Phase II "up in the air". I wouldn't be shocked to see something over 400ft on Phase II if the market permits. This seems like the only way to achieve river views due to Riverwest. I'd like to see another condo high-rise similar to "sleekness...

I'm odd: I am po life, against the death penalty, I believe that the insane should not be homeless but in a safe living arrangement/housing and that it should be fully funded. i believe if you have never had a job yet you have four children? No welfare; get a damned job. If you are on welfare you m...

Re: Minneapolis & St. Paul Fantasies and Speculations
I've fantasized about converting the armory into a farmer's market like the Eastern Market in Washington DC. Maybe utilize the block to the north or the south as a "Market Park" with vendors. I love this idea! It would be great to transform the block north of the armory into an urban farm...
