Re: Minnesota Redistricting 2022
I agree, they do have a chance to take the Senate, epically with some of these new metro drawn seats and Rochester, Senjem got drawn into a much bluer senate seat, which I believe will flip. I think the DFL will hold onto the house, probably about the same margin as they are at today. Minnesota is a...

Re: Public Transit News / Current Events (MN only)
Metro Transit I know is focusing on directing people to Park and Rides that are open, and suggesting alternative services for routes that are suspended.
My opinion on it is if you are already driving to a Park and Ride, you can drive an additional mile or two to a different one.

Re: Purple Line BRT (Rush Line Corridor)
What determines if a project needs municipal consent or not? State Law, and the law only requires LRT projects currently. Wouldn't be surprised to see that change this session. Skewering transit projects is hot right now. Also interested in WBL's opposition: didn't they just reaffirm their support ...

Re: Purple Line BRT (Rush Line Corridor)
There have been talks that White Bear Lake is going to officially pull their support of the Purple Line this month. I don't think that actually does anything though, since it doesn't require municipal consent. What determines if a project needs municipal consent or not? State Law, and the law only ...

Heard that the skyway opens too, anyone know if the cafe and restaurant will be open? I fly back into MSP on Monday, might have to check it out on the way home on the Blue Line.Opens Monday to tenants. 4 seasons in June

Re: Green Line Extension - Southwest LRT
The Met Council has managed 2 light rail projects to completion and MnDot 0, what am I missing here (re: Dibble's response)? Perhaps MnDot would still do a better job, but the fact is they have no experience with light rail transit. Pretty sure MnDot was responsible for building the blue line actua...

Bill calling for audit of SWLRT just unanimously passed MN Senate Transpo committee, now on to the State Government Finance and Policy and Elections Committee.

Re: Green Line Extension - Southwest LRT
I don't remember what context I saw this in (probably a book banning bill or something), but I saw a piece of advice on Twitter the other day that I think applies here too: remember that it's extremely easy for a state legislator to introduce a bill, and most bills that are introduced don't make it...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis - News & General Topics
As a downtown resident, this pleases me. Especially since it debunks all these suburbanites claims that no one wants to live here!https://tcbmag.com/downtown-minneapolis ... ows-again/
Downtown added 3000 more residents and grew 5.6% to 56,000 people in 2021.

Green Line Extension - Southwest LRT
That doesn’t make sense in my mind, I have reached out to Senator Dibble for his justification.Huh.

Re: Red Line (Cedar Avenue BRT)
Well the only station in Eagan is Cedar Grove Station, and the development near that is good in my opinion. Apple Valley are the ones that need to light a fire under their butts about up zoning. Also, the Red Line doesn't really need bus lanes imho, it has the shoulder which works fine.

Re: Red Line (Cedar Avenue BRT)
Red Line won’t be going anywhere….. Metro Transit just bought new buses for the line and is working on installing Go To Readers to align payment structure with the rest of BRT.
