Re: LynLake Municipal Lot Redevelopment

There does need to be some sort of parking option, I think, for a venue like Jungle theater...but I think the 2 apartment buildings on the block across Lyndale have a fair amount of public parking? The one on Aldrich, and the newer one just south of the greenway. As long as they do, I think it is ok...

Re: Uptown (and LynLake) Development & General Topics

The Sephora is doing very poorly...at least so far. I don't think they have said they are going to try to get out of the lease or anything yet, but wouldn't be surprised. That is the gossip from corporate. Unrelated...apparently the new Times Square store is doing badly as well, but at least it is a...

More empty space. Did that place in the old Barnes and Noble ever open?

Too...bulky. I feel like this is exactly what NIMBY types picture every time they hear "tower".

I could have sworn I already asked this, but I guess I didn't. Did we ever see final drawings for this? Isn't the floor count and height up from the original packet a few pages back?

This would be less disappointing if they hadn’t rushed to clear the pleasant almost historic building from the site only for it to sit empty. We have seen this too many times.

Re: Uptown Retail & Restaurant News

Random interjection....my bf works at Sephora corporate, and apparently that new-ish uptown store is doing very badly. I’m surprised H&M is still there. I just don’t know what kind of retail works over there...urban outfitters has been there forever, wonder how they are doing. Certain chains see...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News

I was trying to think what could be done to clean up the space...and the only sort of thing I can think of is filling the area under the sculpture with something like a food vendor. Maybe a stationary tiny space to rotate different food truck vendors through? Not sure what else would work. Filling i...

Re: Uptown Retail & Restaurant News

And it continues to be a sad and disappointing state of affairs with regard to retail in uptown and downtown. How can we keep adding all of these residents, but we can't seem to support retail? I am not there to see, but Henn and Lake must be looking pretty sad....that is a lot of vacancies within o...

So, I hate to be that guy that brings a thread to the top making it look like there is news when I just have a question...so I will ask this here:) I don't live in Minneapolis anymore...I wonder does anyone have any recent pics or an update about how Peavey Plaza is looking? Isn't that supposed to b...

Re: Gateway Tower (RBC/Four Seasons) - 37 stories - 503'

And just like every new development in Minneapolis, the first step was to take out every tree  All those new trees along Nicollet...where that the set back was by far big enough not to damage. I wish they would have moved those to replace other dead trees, but they prob just cut them all out. ...

Re: Gateway Tower (RBC/Four Seasons) - 37 stories - 503'

PS, random note...if nobody has noticed, this building is pretty similar to the relatively new RBC tower in Raleigh, NC. That one is decent, but a bit disjointed with the mix of uses and the tacked on spire. Hopefully ours will look better:)

I probably wouldn't mind signage if they were limited to the size of the RBC one, actually.
