Re: Orange Line (35W BRT) & Lake St Transit Access Project
The 5 may be a half hour on paper but in my experience never was at rush hour times (as long as an hour, as short as 35-40 minutes). I did start taking the 14 in the fall when 35W was a mess. In "normal" times, the 133 was at least 10-15 minutes faster than the local routes. It adds up. Th...

Re: Orange Line (35W BRT) & Lake St Transit Access Project
For a regular rider of the 156 express, the disruption leaving downtown this last week has been a scary preview of the next 4 years once stage 2 starts and access to downtown via 65 will be closed. The re-routing of buses to Park into downtown and Portland out of downtown will render the express ro...

Re: Orange Line (35W BRT) & Lake St Transit Access Project
I figure they'd have to have it in place by phase 2 of the project, listed as Summer 2018 on mndot's site. So sometime in the next 6 months?

Re: D Line - Fremont/Emerson/Chicago Rapid Bus
I know it's only 2 blocks from 46th but a little surprised they went with 52nd over 48th, considering it's a likely destination for some riders given the commercial node there.

Re: Minneapolis City Council and Park Board Elections 2017
Strib editorial board "would do well" to actually visit Ward 11, where they could visibly see that lack of viable parking isn't really an issue in most of the ward. Shameful editorial, but I'm glad to see people seeing right through it. The problem is the voters that don't dig and will use...

Re: MSP Airport
it's a really nice parking lot?
I thought they were extending the tram but it doesn't look like it. They are moving the rental car center, probably some additional costs associated with that.

Re: Minneapolis Skyway System
Does anyone know if there is an App, or new signage or etc. planned for the skyway before the Superbowl? I just helped another person staying at their phone trying to decipher the skyway map, but remaining lost. It seems like there is incentive to make something happen or at least fix the worn out ...

Re: Orange Line (35W BRT) & Lake St Transit Access Project
Maybe they should think about routing busses on Portland/Park as soon as the two sections of Portland re open. I think I’m going to switch to the 14 coming home for a while. From the SIP: https://i.imgur.com/mXWgezY.png Yeah, I knew they were going to do that eventually when the routes into/out of ...

Orange Line (35W BRT) & Lake St Transit Access Project
This project is already causing major bus backups leaving downtown. It’s at least doubled my commute home on the 133 between the lane closures coming out of downtown and traffic backed up on the 36th street Exit (not sure what’s causing that?). Gonna be a long 4 years. Maybe they should think about ...

Re: A Line - Arterial Rapid Bus
I took it from the green line station on Friday. My daughter and I did the P&R at the U, decided the line for those shuttles was too long, and hopped a green line to the A... it worked great and probably got us there faster than if we would have waited for a shuttle.

Re: The Capp - 46th & Hiawatha Mixed Use
It didn't seem that crazy to me.. mostly people that live on the block of Minnehaha that will share an alley. some of their concerns were around traffic on the alley, which the developer pointed out will deliberately funnel them to enter only at the start of the 46th alley where there are no residen...

Rectangular Rapid Flash Beacon (RRFB) is the name I think you were looking for.
In my experience they don't work that well in the city either. People just aren't paying attention or don't care.

Re: Minneapolis Mayoral Election 2017
Not to mention, unless "ordinary" people are really into the process, (and they're probably not "ordinary" at that point) they don't have 16 hours on a Saturday to devote to something like this.
