Re: Calhoun Towers - 3430 List Place (295' - 24 stories)

Has there been any movement on the Midtown Greenway LRT since 2014 or what's the likelihood of that actually being built?

Re: B Line Lake St Rapid Bus, Midtown Rail Transit

Can someone remind me, so the main benefits on travel times from this type of BRT is that it will have fewer stops along it's route, higher frequency and signal priority correct? Or are they considering the red painted bus only lanes during some parts of the day like we see on Hennepin and Chicago a...

I wonder if the next location they're looking at is that surface lot across the street from this. Would be nice to get that developed.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News

I would love more rooftop dining/places to drink downtown, so this would be great! I just think about whenever I visit a major city it's always fun to find a rooftop bar and grab a drink with a cool view to get the lay of the land/great photo opportunities.

Re: Fantasy maps

Yes I just graduated from the U and loved our bus system. One bus route to get you basically everywhere you needed. Not just to class, but to the bars and sporting events too. Loved how simple it was for everyone to understand and use. Definitely looking for something like that to be implemented dow...

Re: Fantasy maps

Yes exactly the sorts of routes I was thinking about. Your map does a great job of showing the complexity of an idea like this though there's so many places that should be hit including St. Anthony Main area which I'm just realizing now. Also the need to use existing infrastructure to save on costs ...

Re: Fantasy maps

Don't know where to put this, has there ever been any talk of having some sort of "loop" type transit in downtown Minneapolis? Thinking of Chicago obviously, but using some sort of BRT system connecting the major neighborhoods of downtown,nightlife/recreational spots and shopping areas (Do...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market

Incoming ignorant opinion, but as a millennial I view St. Paul as so incredibly sad compared to Minneapolis. I would assume young employees in tech firms would be much more pleased to come from around the country to work in Minnesota and find themselves in energetic and vibrant Minneapolis as oppose...

Beginning of Stone Arch Bridge towards downtown! Heavy foot traffic and one of the most photogenic spots in the city. I've always thought we needed a MPLS sign there.

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure

The bi-directional bikeway on 28th street is just temporary for the Greenway detour, right? Really makes you think how much more useful 26th/28th would be if they were two way. Obviously signal reworking at Lyndale, Nicollet, Dupont, etc. is the biggest barrier, but I think that investment would pa...

Re: Eleven (Ryan Condo Tower) - 1111 West River Parkway - 41 stories / 550'

To me, there's still substantial unmet demand for new condos in Downtown East and North Loop. This current construction boom has catered to millennials like me looking to rent. But my parents, looking to downsize and move back downtown from the suburbs into a condo don't have nearly the amount of op...

The talk on SkyscaperCity is that this project will, finally break ground in September.
Yes rumor is September 16th. There are also what looks to be facade samples onsite.

Re: The Expo - 215 2nd St SE (285' - 26 Stories)

There is a trailer onsite now with a sign for Altitude Residences. A quick search says this is a building in Minnetonka. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ https://www.altitudemn.com/ Yeah I work over in Minnetonka and drive by that development as well as a host of others. I don't quite see how they're managing to charge r...

Re: Target Field Station (the Hotel) & Target Field Station (the Station)

That Holiday has been around for quite some time to my memory, but I totally agree with a couple points. We still need gas stations at this point as many people who live downtown still own cars. We also possibly shot ourselves in the foot with that law not permitting new gas station construction in ...

So as not to take the thread further off topic, please hit me up with an IM. All good what ever you decide. Thanks :-) Someone can delete this post as I know it's annoyingly long and off topic.
