Re: 7th Street Transit "Advantage" Bus Stops
https://i.imgur.com/ZDSFv1r.jpg A wild curb extension appeared! So, according to the slides posted upthread, these stations are pretty much going to be aBRT stations, with TVMs, NexTrip signs, lights, heaters, etc. Which makes sense, since the C Line and the Chicago-Fremont (D Line?)whenever they g...

Re: Dinkytown
Related to the Dinkytown bridges: Weren't they supposed to build a connection from 15th or 14th down to the Greenway last summer? What happened to that?

Re: "A Line" Snelling Avenue Arterial Bus
TVMs will print tickets that: * will not be able to be used on regular bus fareboxes and Not a great solution. But if you were to transfer to a regular route bus, I guess you just show the printed pass to the driver. Hopefully the timestamp will printed in very large font. If it's tiny font like cu...

Re: "A Line" Snelling Avenue Arterial Bus
Go-To recharging I can live without, but not allowing transfers to normal buses kinda seems like a dealbreaker on a line that's specifically intended to connect to a bunch of local routes.
Edit: Yeah, I suppose the drivers could just look at the timestamps on the tickets. That's probably more likely.

That sounds totally reasonable to me. I'm sure SFH owners throughout south Minneapolis would hate it.

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
Looks like you've got crossovers just east of Raymond station, and midway between Snelling and Hamline stations. I'm not sure, of course, but it looks to me like they'd have to close down Fairview too. I think the best solution is still full priority (well, one step below emergency vehicles, obvious...

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
As much as I'm a Minneapolis booster, I'd be okay with Penn and 21st St being just roughed in at first instead of being built. Penn especially is going to be a spendy one, and it doesn't really make sense if the C-Line isn't going to connect to it.

I think it's the latter, or presumably Hennepin or Ramsey or both would have gone for it by now.

Yep. The Mankato hospital is part of the Mayo system now, but serious diseases and injuries still get you medivaced to Rochester.

Looks like the answer is yes, as the 7th St curb is all torn up today. The building is open, but pretty bleak inside. Hope they round up some tenants soon.

Re: Saint Paul - General Topics
Since they're asking the HPC for permission, I'm guessing there's some level of historic protections on the building that would prevent a full demolition. I'd guess they won't be able to save much beyond the façade, though, since the building probably wasn't built to support an extra five floors.

Once they open in July, they'll be open on Saturdays, unlike much of the retail downtown, is my read on it.

Maaybe you have a point about the nightlife, but I'm not convinced that an upscale grocery store is a huge source of unruly pedestrian traffic. Certainly the downtown Lunds isn't.

They might have some trouble getting that past the HPC. Or maybe not, if they left the existing portion the same?

Looks like it. Maxwell's is a separate property. I'm not sure its really necessary to be too worried about them razing the building. They already own the perpetually vacant Halloween building next door, and that's still standing.

Might be a leeetle early to say SWLRT probably isn't happening. Even if the whole line doesn't happen, it wouldn't be impossible for the first couple stations to be built on their own.

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
So? The Blue Line passes through only two districts, and the Hennepin portion of the Green Line only one, and those got approved. Opat and Johnson will be happy to screw over Minneapolis, no doubt, but they're not insurmountable.
