Thanks for the link Shawn. I did some searching bf posting but forgot to check phpbb's homepage. Not sure skyscrapercity employs any extra code to update their OP's the way they do, but their top threads have some organization.
Here's an example: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=391698

I'll do some looking on phpbb's site too and see if we can find something that will work here.

What if we made a policy where the original poster and a number of the moderators could go through threads such as that one and consolidate some of the information into the original post according to type of template. That seems to be what they do and would be an easy thing to do.

That would be great! Really any format you guys are comfortable with I think would improve our new user's experience. If you come up with a outline of what you want to include let me know if you need help.

Yeah Shawn is out of state right now. I'm not having any trouble with it on Firefox or Chrome. Are other people still not able to open it?

That's definitely an issue.

blogs.dallasobserver.com - Is there content on the forum page from that website? I scanned the site, home directory, FTP, etc....yesterday and the week before for maleware and had nothing pop up.

NOTE: There is no malware on UrbanMSP.com and users were not at any risk visiting that page!

Update - found the issue. I went to the page (page 43 of vikings thread) and found an image that was posted from the website (dallasobserver). Therefore we had the blogs.dallasobserver.com URL in our pages and since evidently their site got hacked, google assumed that the content we're embedding from them was possibly malicious.

Solution for mods in case this happens again. Find the image/links that are referenced in the malware page, download the picture, upload it to an image hosting site, and replace all references on the page with the new photo URL so there are no references to dallasobserver.com or whatever the affected site is.

Let me know if you see this error message any more.

Thanks for looking into it. It doesn't seem like too big a deal, but I still get the malware warning in Chrome when I try to view page 43 of the Vikings Stadium thread.

Starting now - please tell me whether you are / are not getting the malware warning when viewing page 43 of the vikings thread. From what I can tell we should be clear of it but wanted to see what everyone else is getting.

Site Downtime & Server Migration

Postby Shawn » April 23rd, 2013, 9:36 pm

Hi all, you may have noticed excessive downtime lately (1097 minutes this month). Because of the unreliable server that we are on, we've been having quite a few issues. We are going to be migrating to a new server with better uptime history and more reliability. This may cause some downtime in the coming day or two but it should not be significant. I will keep you up to date. Sorry about the issues!

Sending PMs - Ongoing Issues

Postby Visualizer » April 23rd, 2013, 9:58 pm

I can't seem to be able to send out any PMs anymore. Everything just ends up in the Outbox. My inbox is 4% full. Any ideas?

Pingdom & Website Optimization

Postby Shawn » May 4th, 2013, 1:02 pm

For those who like statistics, or have been getting frustrated by the extensive downtime on the site - there is good news!

First of all, we switched servers to a significantly more reliable server that has a history of very good uptime, so my hope is that this will not be an issue anymore.

Additionally, we have started using Pingdom to optimize our site and attempt to reduce/minimize our downtime. See our public statistics here: http://stats.pingdom.com/4nvbszbi7dph

Feel free to bookmark that page - it will alert us immediately to site downtime so we can work on getting everything back up and running asap.
