Does the downtown Minneapolis forum have a permanent "unread posts" icon for anyone else? I think it might be related to the "streets.m(ad)n(ess)" sticky? That's showing up as constantly having unread posts for me too.

Yeah, whenever there's a thread that's shown in every forum it gets weird. If you click "view unread posts" at the top from the main page you'll be able to "read" it and it won't show up anymore.

Also, if you go to the Madness thread via the Photography forum that seems to mark it as read, I think Photography is where the thread really "lives."

Has the forum been wacky for anyone else today? Tried to post a few times, typed it up, only to lose my login. Had a few instances of wordless pages too.

This afternoon I was unable to access the site from both my phone and laptop. It seems to be working now though.

Is it possible to create a non-humorous word-filter?

That'd be cool if we could do it to certain acronyms that we're prone to use.

Like if CoW (case-sensitive, like that) could be auto-corrected to "Committee of the Whole", that would be awesome.

Same for PAC, CAC, etc.

I think it's been pointed out that some aviation-related forums use a plugin that automatically wraps suspected abbreviations with the appropriate HTML tags so they'll show the full phrase when you mouse over them. That would have the same effect without the problem of occasionally expanding things incorrectly (the tagging might still be wrong, but it would be easier to figure out the right meaning from context).
