Are there any site plans for the renovation posted anywhere? They are adding all kinds of steel supports in the back above the parking garage and am curious what they are doing!

Still waiting for plans, Have ask the same thing a few weeks ago. Thanks for the heads up on the work in the light well. My guess it that will be an outdoor amenity area. Possible pool, lounge, bar area. I'm with you and wishing there was some more defined info out there. Want to see how they configure the rooms.

I didn't find plans, but a google found this article posted a few days ago.

http://www.hotelinteractive.com/article ... leid=37282

"The new Embassy Suites will include 9,000 square feet of meeting space including a 3,600-square foot ballroom, a 3,000-square foot fitness center, an indoor swimming pool, a first floor bar, 253 below grade parking stalls, and a 7,000-square foot leased restaurant space, in addition to the existing local landmark Lyon’s Pub, which will remain in operation during the redevelopment of the rest of the building."

What??? There have been 253 underground parking spot under that building this whole time. I just thought it was parking for about 30-40 in the back side of the ground floor!

Looks like the windows are going back in starting on the top floors.

They still have 4-5 floors that they have not yet removed from the ground floor up. They are smart in doing this project in phases. Helps to keep moisture out of the interior of the building and issues with mold later on at a minimum.

Wedge: I hadn't thought about that. Good point.

Also noticed at lunch the signs saying opening Fall 2016. Did we know that already?

That's a great flyer and showcases so many amazing things about this city & metro. I hope something great fills the space! I won't lie, I would love something like Cheesecake Factory there. But any restaurant (chain or not) would be welcome.

Reading through the flyer I was hoping that it would help attract a big nationwide restaurant, but one that only has one location per metro area. The kind that you see in the back of the airplane magazines. Couldn't think of any concrete examples... yeah, there's my 2 cent ramble

Perhaps one of the Best Steakhouses in America, as featured in Delta Sky Magazine?

Actually, I have said many times, I am pretty sure Cheesecake Factory would do well downtown, and even actually be a draw...they do well pretty much anywhere they go. Agree that if it's a major chain it has to be one that only has one to two locations per market. Similar ideas that do well downtown are Capitol Grille, Rock Bottom, Mc Cormick and Schmick, Ruth's Chris...

I wonder if Parasole would consider a Pittsburgh Blue here? It's bit down market from Manny's but do you think it'd cannibalize it?
