It's actually unclear about the skyway. Yes, the level 2-7 plan doesn't show a connection. But if you look carefully at the 1st floor plan there is a dotted area crossing the alley into Nic on Fifth labeled "location of future skyway above."
Any updated information regarding if a connection is being planned? A private skyway I would think is logical considering the layout. With the planned Ritz residential towers and all the other newly built residential buildings all being connected via skyway surly they would be at an disadvantage leasing apartments, wouldn't they? Perhaps our construction experts can take note of the building materials used to give us an idea if at least a private skyway maybe a possibility in that specific location?

Any skyway to the Marquette I believe would be a private one that would be right behind the stairwell for the parking structure of the Nic and come in behind the 4 Marq's stairwell for the parking structure. It would also take out about 2 parking stall next to the stairwell on the south side of the 4 Marq. You would have to walk thru the parking garage to get to the elevators to get inside of the building. Because of this the skyway would have to be secured to prevent thefts from cars and other crimes in the parking garage.

There is room in the Nic for the skyway as the area is marked off as storage. As I see it it would only benefit Nic's skyway retail to have that connection to the 200 units in the 4 Marq being able to easily access it without having to go out side which would be considered an inconvenience for many to go into Nic and then have to go back out to get home.

Any skyways to the Ritz block will be coming from the Excel Building and not the Marq 4.

Is there a targeted completion date for this project? (I'm sure somewhere in the previous 25 pages it's listed).

There is no plan at this time to complete this project.

I imagine that they wouldn't be doing it if they didn't plan to complete it...

...not necessarily, they could be what we would call "construction trolls" Building during the daytime while deconstructing at night under the cover of darkness never really completing a building and simply trolling the community surrounding the building.

OR it could be Early 2016... either way who know.. I just skim articles I never read them anymore lol..

I remember that article now. Hard to believe after it was announced that it won't be completed until sometime towards the beginning of 16' (if all goes well). That underscores the fact that we'll be sitting on our hands for quite some time with the other projects that are still in the planning phases we're hoping come to fruition.

I think they consider an 18 month minimum for getting the tower topped off, the exterior clad, and the interior work finished. It is now the 1st of October and we barely have an elevator shaft out of the ground. The parking deck will take some time, then the apartments themselves. My honest opinion it will be the 2nd quarter of 16 before it opens up. Any work on a skyway will probably not happen until the 1st quarter of 2016.

Awesome! This is getting exciting. I was noticing this view from whole foods and surprised how far it looks from the nic and also how much of the skyline behind it won't block.

Marq4 will actually help negate/distract from the bulkiness of the nearby Nic on Fifth even though they are somewhat separate. Plus Xcel will fill in the northwest corner and its shorter height will give the block even more variation.

Yes, you can see more (and the webcam link) under that building's forum.

I'm sure this has been answered on other threads, but when looking at the 4Marq webcam, are there plans for the large surface lot at the bottom of the screen?

That's the Ritz block. There's a thread about it, but in short, Opus owns it and is planning a pair of 30+ story residential towers.

Ok, well aware of that thread, just wasn't sure what surface lot that was. Thank you.
