I haven't been following this super closely but every time I see anything about "365 by Whole Foods" I'm hoping that's what this actually turns out to be.

The Thresher Square portion could start at anytime as that part is semi independent of having to be a part of the Retail/apartment building process. Not sure what the hold up is with that part. Possibly just getting construction documents done before they start.

Well if I owned a condo in the neighborhood I'd hope you're wrong.

Is this a safe space to admit I never been to a Trader Joe's before and I have no idea what all the buzz is about yet? Or should I head over to the confession booth? Is Trader Joe's so much better than Whole Foods or Target or Aldis or Lunds?

It's like a fancier Aldi. It's all house brand, and some people SWEAR by a few of their specific products. I hear a lot of good things about two buck chuck or whatever it is. It's cheap wine, but better than it has any right to be at its price.

Not really a place that you can get all your stuff at. I have about a dozen items that I will go to TJ for, but the rest is just over priced for what I can get elsewhere.

I think it's foolish that they cut out the skyway connection. In the grand scheme of things it wasn't much money and it would have added a lot of value to the project.

I thought it sounded more like the timing of the MSFA parking ramp left them no choice. The parking ramp had to begin construction and this development was way too far off in the future. MSFA simply could not afford to wait any longer to begin ramp construction...and you can be sure they were not willing to pay for any skyway accommodations for a nonexistent building. For all we know this Sherman project still does not have its financing package in place (not unusual), and therefore there was no money available to pay MSFA to make those changes/accommodations.

It was a nice idea but it just didn't work out. Sherman would've needed to hatch these plans at least a year sooner or have had a pile of cash ready to throw at MSFA to redesign the ramp.

EDIT: Sherman website link now calls the project "East End", which is better than Zentro http://www.sherman-associates.com/713-s ... on-avenue/

Also, really?
So is this still happening or did it fall apart? Maybe the Trader Joe curse is a thing!

Ah. This'll be pretty sustainable. You can tell by the green tiles.

Interesting about the "retail leasing info" bit. I don't believe there was any additional space available beyond the grocery/liquor component (purported to be Trader Joe's). But as we've heard TJ is notoriously secret and won't make anything public until it's much further along. Who knows if they've even signed a lease yet...

On page 11 we talked about a third retail bay in addition to the purported Trader Joe's grocery and liquor spaces.
The problem with being an introvert online is that no one knows you're just hanging out and listening.

Set to open in the first half of 2017. So we should be expecting them to break ground pretty soon.

That's great news, and I think it makes more sense than Aldi's, personally, based on what I've experienced in both store types.

Yes, but we all know that Trader Joe's doesn't understand how to meet parking demands so this is doomed to fail. Also, parking meters. #carpocalypse

Never read the Strib comments... it is the same anti-Minneapolis, crabby old white malcontents... I see the same names no matter what the topic is...
