Awesome, they're not going to allow any additional curb cuts!

Sherman is going to propose a 9 story hotel with 140 rooms. Pinstripes as an anchor tenant. Eric Best tweeted it

Very nice. I've had good times at Pinstripes.

Oh wow is this a case of a developer upping their proposal from what they originally wanted to go with? Someone remind Sherman that's not how things go in this city.

Also, yay, bowling downtown! and a classy place like pinstripes too!

I liked Pinstripes the one time I was there (didn't help that work was footing the bill) but hopefully they adapt it to be more urban. I probably couldn't describe it any more if pressed for more details, but it felt very much like someone's suburban game room and backyard, just on steroids. Maybe it's unique enough that the concept can survive moving into the city without any retooling.

Just hope eventually we'll get a design truly unique.

No. You've pretty much got it.

I am seriously hoping for some neighborhood amenities since those are currently lacking over here. So I'll put my support behind something else (hopefully).

Yup, it's pretty nice. Just east of Michigan ave. Pinstripes are cleaner, and modern compared to other places...

As weird as it is I think I know what you mean. Maybe it's the Edina location that makes it unable to overcome it's suburban-ness, but I've never seen it as a place I'd plan on going outside of expensive lunches with clients or happy hours, certainly not somewhere I'd plan to go after 9:00. Then again, that kind of place might just be perfect for the Mill District. I'm all for a bowling focused restaurant downtown, but my ideal choice would have been Lucky Strike, not Pinstripes. That was a place young people would want to go for a night out.

Honestly, it was the firepit that gave it the suburban vibe to me, I remember it being a lot of empty space that made it feel like an acre suburban back yard, rather than an intimate urban space. No idea what other places look like though, they don't really have pictures online.

Does Sherman have any other sites in play as potential hotels? Besides the Thresher Square site?

We did a little roundup of all the downtown hotel proposals currently in play, from approved to rumored, over in the Downtown Hotel News topic: https://forum.streets.mn/viewtopic.php?f=13& ... 290#p88290

Just a few more details. Two levels for pinstripes, 10 alleys and 6 bocce courts. Rooftop restaurant as part of the hotel. Pinstripes would "blurr the lines" between indoor and outdoor at the corner of chicago and washington. No additional parking.

Mortenson proposing a 188 room, 9 story Hyatt centric (new brand) hotel with a restaurant managed by the folks at Sea Change.

This is all according to Adam Voge
