Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
Wait, two of their three locations are in adjacent buildings? That seems odd.

Gotta love these kinds of comments:http://www.startribune.com/sports-centr ... 351945811/
Hubert's will be remodeled and re-opened as a gastropub run by the same people as Devil's Advocate
The bad news:
Stadium Partners is a new real estate venture led by Jonathan Bruntjen, with assistance from retired real estate investor George Nelson Jr. Not only will the investment group make money on the restaurant lease, the partners sees a ripe advertising opportunity with the two billboards on its property.
"Oh yeah, because there haven't been enough restaurant closings in downtown Murderapolis the past year. lol. So, there are 2 preseason and 8 regular season Vikings games a year. How much do the owners of the proposed "gastropub" plan to make during those 10 days a year?"
Just needs more "where's the parking."
Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
Remember it will now be a neighborhood haunt of all of those new apartment tenants! They will all walk there for sure!! LOL
Not sure how they plan to make advertising money when they will lose one direction of traffic that will now be exiting on 7th and not 5th. Maybe for the honeymoon period when people have to come and see the stadium, the advertisers will pay the money. But I don't see their reach to consumers without a lot of car traffic which has now been cut in half. If they paid for the current rate of the sign. They may wish they had thought twice down the road.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
Any news on Gavidae? How long has the top level been closed now? What's going up there.
Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
Some of you may have noticed, Black Sheep in the North Loop is expanding to include the below-grade space next door, and will include a full bar and "grilled food" (so, burgers?). I hope the bar menu is heavy on the bourbon.
Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
Look to the black sheep on Nicollet for your answer on that one.
Hopefully they'll have the same late night drink specials!

Update: Nope. There is a deal in place to sell the Solera building.
I wonder what'll happen to their ghost sign along 9th? I kinda hope it's left alone.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
The Broadway Pizza location insode U.S. Bank Plaza just closed recently. I happened to pass by it during my travels today.
Buildings, what buildings?
Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
Maybe they closed because people like me who walk thru there enough still did not know it existed in the US Bank Plaza. I have not a clue where it is even at. I know of a few other places, but not Broadway Pizza. Must have been on the main floor level.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
Uh it was skyway level right at the corner next to Jimmy Johns. Kind of odd they closed.
Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
For what it's worth, I just checked their website and it says "Temporarily Closed" for the downtown location. I hope so, I much prefer it to other nearby pizza options.

Are you thinking of US Bancorp Center? Broadway Pizza is quite conspicuous on the skyway level of US Bank Plaza.Maybe they closed because people like me who walk thru there enough still did not know it existed in the US Bank Plaza. I was very sorry to see this when I stopped by there last week. The two for one slices after 2:30 were a great deal!

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
So what are we going to dump on for this restaurant, the food, the service or the price like usual to explain this away and make us feel better? No loss right?
