Weird little project popped up on the agenda- a 2 story addition to the nondescript 2 story building that Brunsfield Place is being constructed around. The addition is being designed by David Salmela, which should make several people here pleased. Nice to see some smaller projects happening.

What a strange little building. I wonder what that means for future development the corner of 9th and Washington.

This sort of quirky little building is just what I'm hoping for on that triangular chunk of land at Plymouth Ave and 2nd. It will be nice to see some better renderings, as those are pretty rough.

Oh weird. When I read just the text description on the agenda, I assumed it was a 2-story addition next to the existing 2-story building, not on top of it. This could turn out really cool.

It is interesting... And I am a HUGE fan of the architect... but I'm undecided based on the site plans. If they use good materials... but yeah, it's doing to add some dynamics to the architecture in the area.

Looks like a nice infill with some creativity. This project, the Bickford, Western Container condos, the Sharpco project are all signs that another wave of development (beyond the apartment boom) is in the making for the North Loop. Great news!

Huh. Cool, so this is an izzys factory satellite in the north loop, right?

Interesting how something so unique seems to fit in well with its surroundings. Nice job!

I wonder if something like CoCo would work for their purposes (can it accommodate in that way? I'm not sure). Agencies like these often really only need the space when they absolutely need to get together for a meeting. I work in a similar environment and everyone is given a very nice laptop so they can plug in anywhere, and many people simply stay at home for appointments, weather, etc. because even for most meetings, they can just call in.

Vacancy due to Ovative Group out growing the space available. Open Book is currently undergoing a major 1+ year renovation.

Does anybody know if this thing is under works now? It supposedly got the go-ahead for a December 2013 construction start.

I'm literally on this same block as I type this and can attest to absolutely nothing on the outside happening to this. I don't think they'll start anything until after Gurley Lofts is completely finished. Despite people living there, it's very far from completed.

The only good thing about this is that the front facade seems to be having a nice conversation with the Brunsfield building, mimicking the massing. The other elevations seem very random, but not in a thoughtful way, and don't get me started on the black/white paint job.

This seems to be underway - the windows are all removed and it looks like the interior is gutted.

This project seems to be moving forward, I thought by now they would be further along that it appears to be. Hopefully the upper two stories will go up much faster than the work on the current structure. I hope that have things topped off before November.
