Public Art

Postby NickP » June 11th, 2013, 8:40 am

Hey Friends,
Whoa, my first topic. lol. I looked and didn't find a forum for this. I saw this on the downtown journal website and thought it was cool. It looks like we will have a giant mood ring for the city. It's a bit like a modern day weather ball. :)

I was going to make a joke about getting the mood from Twitter, and then low and behold it gets the mood from Twitter. Hopefully they did some analysis beforehand to determine if we actually have a collective mood on twitter, otherwise this will be a pretty expensive static sculpture.

Is this going to be a temporary display or is this permanent?

Looks like it'll be there through this fall.

I wonder if the cloud will be able to identify snark on Twitter. I for one say things that sound like they have a negative edge when my mood is quite rosy, actually.
