Re: Latitude 45 - (301 Washington Avenue South)
The gateway ramp looks full. I wonder what percentage is leased space versus daily rates, since they'll be making room for residents vehicles.
Also hope the skyway gets an update, but it's on public ROW so it's probably city owned.

Re: Latitude 45 - (301 Washington Avenue South)
When I was photographing around Downtown East on Monday I was a little surprised how full all of these lots were on the east side of downtown.
Anyhow here's a shot before the tower crane went up.

From all the renderings I've seen its hard to tell if the skyway will get a facelift. It sure could use one. At least the apartment building will conceal a majority of it when it's built. Also hope the skyway gets an update, but it's on public ROW so it's probably city owned.

Last time I was in there, the Volkswagen dealers were storing a ton of new cars in there and the rest of the ramp was pretty much at full capacity with the commuters. The gateway ramp looks full. Perhaps they were being stored for the auto show?
Re: Latitude 45 - (301 Washington Avenue South)
Really making a lot of progress quickly. Good thing.
Re: Latitude 45 - (301 Washington Avenue South)
This project is definitely going to have an out-sized impact on downtown.
Re: Latitude 45 - (301 Washington Avenue South)
Is there not supposed to be 2 levels of underground parking? That looks awfully shallow for 2 levels of parking from that perspective.

That's what I've been thinking. 99-to-1 I would've placed money on 4Marq going up before this.Really making a lot of progress quickly. Good thing.
Re: Latitude 45 - (301 Washington Avenue South)
This project will have tremendously positive impact on the area around it. Have to say this was one of the worst vacant lots downtown.

Re: Latitude 45 - (301 Washington Avenue South)
Only the perimeter where footings and walls are being poured gets excavated at first. It is difficult to tell from the photo but the perimeter will be deeper than the middle of the dig. Remember that this project has parking across the street in the ramp as well.Is there not supposed to be 2 levels of underground parking? Re: Latitude 45 - (301 Washington Avenue South)
I may be wrong , but it looks like the concrete base/foundation for the elevator shaft has already been placed towards the middle of the site. I'm assuming they will dig the perimeter down to that level which would be about 2 floors of parking.Only the perimeter where footings and walls are being poured gets excavated at first. I saw that today as well, as I walk by there everyday during my lunch break. It looks really shallow.

It makes me happy to see these surface lots go bye bye.

According the latest proposal before the CoW (from July, http://www.minneapolismn.gov/www/groups ... 111915.pdf) there's only a single level of underground parking with 106 spaces, with another 47 spaces at ground level below the courtyard and pool area.

Re: Latitude 45 - (301 Washington Avenue South)
There is a pit below an elevator shaft which makes it look deeper. It'll be one level underground, the "back" of the site is parked as has been pointed out and the parking across the street is probably the reason that this project is even feasible...I may be wrong , but it looks like the concrete base/foundation for the elevator shaft has already been placed towards the middle of the site.
