One Steele leaves, another moves in....
Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
Steele was present at our bagel Friday event that we have every week for Capella and I took some information from them. The membership seems pretty reasonable at $40 a month which includes unlimited access to group fitness programming. It looks like their personal training is $99 a session, but they were giving out new client introductory BOGO specials which I'm sure if you mention you could get. Overall, the facility looks REALLY nice and has pretty high end amenities considering the prices of Lifetime.

O RLY? I've always hated that empty lot. Fill it in, I say!

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
Does Swervo do new construction? Have they previously partnered on a new development anywhere? We know they own, renovate, and operate older buildings, including a handful just a block from here. I hate to be overly pessimistic, but I suppose it's not out of the realm of possibility that Swervo bought this for parking, at least near-term anyways. I obviously hope they bought it for development, and the sooner that happens the better

312 Third St. S. was bought by Ryan Co. for $4 million.
This is one more building off of my lists of "needs work"!

Ryan was busy today:

Looks like the Radisson Red that was scrapped for the parking ramp project is being moved across Park Ave next to the Wells Fargo Towers. I didn't even know there was going to be room on that block for something once the towers were built out. Says it will likely be shorter than the 17 story office towers.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
Does anyone know what's going on at 1101 Hennepin Ave? The former Waldorf Nevens cleaners? There's now a project sign op for a smaller company I don't recognize and there's definitely some work being done.
Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
Really? That must have gone up after I walked by this morning. I've been wondering what would happen to it, though my hopes tended more towards demolition and redevelopment without a parking lot facing Hennepin.

I'll try and snap a pic if I can. It would be a great place for a skyway-connected residential tower.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
What was the name of the company?
Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
VSI Construction. The building permit in the window is for "Demolition to prepare for new restaurant".
Looks like it'll be a Pizza Hut. Interior demo only, the parking lot is staying. Better than an empty storefront, but I would like to have quick food options besides pizza near me.
