530 feet including the spire.

JMI is the hotel partner. 300 room, five star hotel.

And I'm here wearing a bright red rain coat.
so no mention of the actual hotel brand? or is JMI a hotel? never heard of it. this must be the hotel developer.

Beauty is clearly in the eye of the beholder. However, no "inside info" is needed to know the track record of floor count reduction in taller buildings built or proposed in Minneapolis in the last 20+ years. It's not negativity it's facts.

That's pretty stunning. Would be even better if those fake rendered light columns from the top and the spire flare could actually exist.

Audience member is concerned that this is out of scale with the surrounding environment, which I will admit I did not expect to hear about a proposal downtown.

I like it. Iconic? Maybe not so much, but certainly better than i think many were expecting. I love the glass at street level and the lighted spire will look cool crossing the river on Hennepin.

Did someone wander over the river from Our Lady of Lourdes...? ;-)

Sounds like this is going to be a very awesome project! Not so sure about the tower on the top, maybe it lights up?

Did anyone catch whether there'll be LED lighting features, which was hinted about at one point by the developer? If this thing is lit up with synchronized multi-color LEDs it could very easily be an icon, even at "only" 530 feet.

Yes, LED lighting. When they looked at the sketchup model and rotated around the north side of downtown this building really stood out. It was obvious that it was quite a bit taller than 4Marq even without the spire.

I left feeling more optimistic about the project than before. This new design is far better than what they released earlier, but I wouldn't call it iconic. Still, it's very exciting and it looks a LOT better than the other Four Seasons buildings mentioned earlier in the thread...
