Re: Mayo Clinic Square (formerly Block E)
^^^that's the 1980's Twincitizen. And the 1970's were not square MplsSteve. If it was I would have remembered more of it
Re: Mayo Clinic Square (formerly Block E)
It's hip to be a square.
Re: Mayo Clinic Square (formerly Block E)
...but...where are all the street urchins going to go?
Re: Mayo Clinic Square (formerly Block E)
Not keen on the name "Mayo Clinic Square" but thing it's a great new direction for Block E and will better connect the business district with the entertainment district. Hopefully will increase skyway and street activity and support move retail/dining in the area.

Stop it! I want some Uni now....but...where are all the street urchins going to go?
Re: Mayo Clinic Square (formerly Block E)
I'd guess that people will generally either continue to refer to it as Block E, or shorten it to "Mayo Square", which sounds better than "Mayo Clinic Square".Not keen on the name "Mayo Clinic Square" but thing it's a great new direction for Block E and will better connect the business district with the entertainment district. Re: Mayo Clinic Square (formerly Block E)

Re: Mayo Clinic Square (formerly Block E)

Which I'm sure will then be shortened to "The Mayo" and then "Mayo" and then everyone will agree to go back to "Block E."I'd guess that people will generally either continue to refer to it as Block E, or shorten it to "Mayo Square", which sounds better than "Mayo Clinic Square".Not keen on the name "Mayo Clinic Square" but thing it's a great new direction for Block E and will better connect the business district with the entertainment district. Wait, does Block E = MC Square?

Re: Mayo Clinic Square (formerly Block E)
On a quick look through the plans, it almost looks like they want to change the skyway connecting May Clinic Square to Target Center. I think that would be a huge loss. Hopefully I am just misinterpreting the renderings.

I noticed changes to that too. I think they're just taking away the faux suspension tower/cables and painting the red metal gray. I can't imagine they'd want to spend money to replace it altogether.
The problem with being an introvert online is that no one knows you're just hanging out and listening.
Re: Mayo Clinic Square (formerly Block E)
The current skyway would look stupid spanning between the King and Queen of Minnesota Modern anyways.
Towns!
Re: Mayo Clinic Square (formerly Block E)
Did anybody else notice that Sid Hartman's Sunday column said this would be called "the Mayo Building"?

I'm not suggesting Sid Hartman is right. More I'm pointing out how irrelevant Sid Hartman (and the intern who writes his column) have become.

Re: Mayo Clinic Square (formerly Block E)
I suppose it would look odd between both of these remodeled buildings. I just like that it is a bit of a standout in an area that is not great right now. With the new building facades it is a goner. The current skyway would look stupid spanning between the King and Queen of Minnesota Modern anyways.
Re: Mayo Clinic Square (formerly Block E)
In the site plan drawings it refers to the existing building as Bloke E instead of Block E which I find surprisingly hilarious right now.
