Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
What's the purpose of the "FCC Room" facing Spruce Place and the lobby? Is this like that formerly secret room at the AT&T complex in San Francisco or something?
Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
I expect FCC stands for Fire Command Center, which is where firefighters go to access the building's fire pumps, sprinkler status, etc.

Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
As I was biking by this today for about the 4th time... ugh, what I like most about this project is that unlike 110 grant down the block that takes up an entire block for some courtyard thing this is tucked right in with the other buildings and other than the design that is the coolest part about this, just my 2 cents haha.
Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
I noticed the tower component is quite slim which will make it look somewhat taller than it actually is. It will have a sleek and graceful form. It's also setback well from the streel level, so it's scale won't impact the surrounding area as much. That said, however, the concrete shell of the podium looks pretty hulking compared to everything around it. Hopefully, the design of podium facade (when completed) will make it fit in more gently.
Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
I agree it's a hulking mass at the moment, but I have a strong feeling we won't really notice that once there's a 360-ft glassy gibbous rising from it. Still curious to see the final cladding, though.

That's quite the skyline the pool is going to look out on!

Not impressed. I was expecting an infinity pool like that hotel in Singapore.

97% sure it isn't Ben Franklin, as well.
Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
was at the walker sculpture garden last night and this tower can now be clearly seen rising as you walk up vineland place. will frame loring park nicely. an elegant profile.
Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
It's very visible already from so many places. Walking up Nicollet from south of 94 it looks great. Can't wait to see its visual impact when complete!
Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
It's now visible from I-94 as well (East of the tunnel). It's going to be fun to watch this thing grow!
Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
This project appears to be rising a little faster than what I'd expect of a skyscraper. Maybe because the floorplate is rather small. I'm guessing about one and 1/2 stories per week. Anybody keeping count?

Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
I think the tower portion should go up about that pace. They're in a place now where they can just keep using the same forms, plus the tower floor plates aren't nearly as big is the Nic or some of the other projects.

Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
I would actually LOVE a panoramic shot of the skyline -- from a number of angles -- to see all of the activity going on downtown! I'm curious what all of this looks like (while sitting in Cleveland)!
Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
Not the best view, but boy is she already lording over her low-rise neighbors.

The crane got taller sometime last week.
