LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
I counted 5 (parking ramp) + 27 (tower) floors today. I think that means 4 habitable floors plus crown left? I imagine that elevator shaft bump will start to top out very soon.

Looked like the core was at 31 floors today. Floor plates two floors below. I may have miscounted by one, but the end appears to be nigh.

There at the 34th level (including the 5 story ramp). Two more residential floors and the crown. Nice photo of the skyline Minnekato!

Wow! Awesome pic! It says a lot about how the freeways have affected the neighborhoods, without ever saying a word. The building can be seen in this recent picture

I'd be curious to know what you think it says about it. I'm always sort of amazed how cleanly 35W slices through south Minneapolis.Wow! Awesome pic! It says a lot about how the freeways have affected the neighborhoods, without ever saying a word.
Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
To me, it says something about the separation - the differentness - of the freeways compared to the neighborhoods. In some sense, the freeways are really more of a long tentacle of the suburbs than a part of city, despite their physical location. The freeways are 'something else' that's been introduced into the neighborhoods.
Something like that - it's surprisingly difficult to put it into words concisely.

I personally dont think 35W changes neighborhoods at all. Once you get into Minneapolis, the neighborhoods are basically the same on each side of the freeway all the way up to downtown.
Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
as a lifelong south mpls resident you couldnt be more wrong. the freeway changed the city forever. housing values...the disconect from east to west. we were always mindful west of 35W were the "nicer" neighborhoods. but that's a topic for another section of this forum.
building looks awesome. really nice from the west side of lake calhoun.

Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
as someone who used to live one block west of 35w near Franklin Ave, I definitely disagree. All of the gunshot noises at night came from the east, across the highway... 35w changed and divided south Minneapolis.I personally dont think 35W changes neighborhoods at all. This building is amazing going E on 394. Having a tall building outside the core does wonders for the look of a downtown.
Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
As you start to see more glass as it is being installed farther up if helps to make for a great presence in the skyline. I would hope that they would be topped off by mid December at the latest. I think if I counted right there are basically 2 floor yet to pour, counting the roof!!
Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
Driving by it yesterday, there is a large square object in the middle which sticks up much farther than the last finished floor - is that the elevator?
Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
Yes that is the elevator shaft. Will probably work out to about 1 story and a half taller than the rest of the tower. I believe that the elevator shaft is as tall as it is going to be.

Corewall has 2 more pours, about 18' to go. Two more decks to pour, then the roof. Topoff is tentatively the week of Dec 16th. Up next: 400 Marquette for Mortenson.
