I noticed an oddity on this one -- didn't have a chance to look at in detail, and haven't been back by it in a while.

It appears that levels 2-4 are real brick, but that level 5 is peel-and-stick brick. You can sort of see it in the picture above, that the profile of the building actually steps back very slightly at that level. Can anybody confirm this? It just looked weird and wrong.

I'm not sure what exactly form of punishment is most appropriate for that sort of architectural tomfoolery, but it's going to be grievous.

Also there are residents here but still no lobby, and it sounds like they're literally working around the clock to finish the building. I've got a friend that works here and he stumbled home drunk late at night and crews were replacing the garage door (and thus locking him out, but one of the workers recognized him and let him in).

Construction crew was working at 7:00 AM on Saturday on this one. Blew out a transformer at about 7:15 AM & shut down power for the whole area for a while. Sparks were flying, loudest thing I've ever heard.

I walked thru the north loop yesterday and I would have to agree with you. Probably some odds and end to finish. They need to put up stair cases to the first floor units entry balconies. The connecting sidewalks are poured, but at this point the stairs are missing. That maybe a spring project. The project actually looks much better than their last project down the street.

looks like a 6 story shoe box. I know it's hard to judge a building at this point, but I must say there is almost no architectural detail on this at all. Hopefully the skin will look nice.

Obviously whoever took that photo was trying to be funny - as you can see there are more balloon letters after it that are cut out of the picture.

It has over 10,000 notes on tumblr so I figured as long as the thread popped up.

Edit: The extra letter was an 'S' making it 'Butts'

But what word is it? BUTTON? BUTTER? What would they be spelling?

Edit: Grant explained.

Right-click -> View image (in Firefox, anyway)

Reminded me of the first episode of @midnight, where Kumail Nanjiani somehow won everything by saying #butts

For what it's worth (I can't believe I'm even pointing this out) that's Soltva right down the street, not Solhavn. You can tell because of the view of the parking lot and Strib printing press out the window.

Yes, I'm disgusted I even noticed that, much less pointed it out. But I do spend a fair amount of time at Solhavn since I have some friends that live there.

I'm disgusted they can't get any more creative with their apartment names and that two are so similar.
