Peavey Plaza
Re: Peavey Plaza
Will the holiday market move back downtown once this is completed?
Re: Peavey Plaza
I was so excited to see this. I haven't seen them silver like that since I was a kiddo. Very nostalgic.
Re: Peavey Plaza
It absolutely blew my mind when I first learned that they were intended to be silver.

When I walked by the plaza last night it appeared to be just about complete. All the fountains were on and the pool was full.
It will be so nice to have this space operational again.

Re: Peavey Plaza
Just finished checking it out after the ceremony. It's really wonderful, the fountains are such a statement and the presence of water is invigorating. It lacks the polish of a sparkly new park but maintains the character and history of the city and architecture. Children flailed around in the now shallow pool, people in accessibility devices rolled around and walked their pets. What an amenity for downtown.

Nice to meet you today Nathan. If people have a chance to check it out, The fountains and steel tubular sculptures are lit up at night and look fantastic!Nathan wrote: ↑July 18th, 2019, 11:28 amJust finished checking it out after the ceremony. With the opening of the restored Peavey Plaza, I think we are really beginning to see Nicollet Mall truly come back to life after several decades of decline Yay!
