How is that the same building? The parking lot is missing in the first image. Did streets get realigned here?

Did streets get realigned here?
Yes, pretty significantly. You can see that the current alignment of 10th Street is not parallel with the adjacent block of 11th.

Here's an old aerial; the location of interest is in the upper-left portion.

The realignment allowed the sections of 10th on either side of Hennepin to connect better than they used to. It also accommodated a fairly seamless expansion of the Orpheum flyhouse, as well as the loading dock adjacent to the subject building.

Of course, I read the header and think 1 Office Tower and 2 Apartments towers... (sad face emoji)

Funny note, that parking lot along 10th is not actually a parcel but rather considered part of a wider street right of way on the property maps. I guess that's needed for trucks to pull in then back down the ramp to the Orpheum docks. It's also weird that the City is therefore liable for what is essentially dock access for a private organization, since the City sold the theater to Hennepin Theater Trust way back in the day.

Speaking of, why is the Orpheum such a human hostile monstrosity? It's a half block behemoth with nothing but inactive brick walls along 10th, 9th, and Hawthorne.
