So I took the worlds worst picture looking down 5th Ave. The sign has white lights, and the blue hue from the station contrast nicely. It's rather beautiful at night. See terrible pic on imgur. Sorry for the lack of rotation.

I may stop on by on Saturday. My transit junkie buddy will be in town that day and is digging the station.

Also, it looks similar to the Starbucks in downtown Seattle

Sounds like a pop-up micro-meetup is going to happen this Saturday. I am planning to be there with my new camera.

Very attractive.

If it won't have one when it opens I think the underside of the bridge by the open space should have a lighting art installation.

I had a chance to observe trains for awhile while showing someone from out of town to the light rail station just before the Twins game. Bad, bad, bad. I am struggling to grasp the logic here, but will continue to wait until the new station is fully opened to make final judgement.

I watched three trains drop off passengers, continue to the extension track and return to pick up passengers and saw the same disaster each time without fail. Here is what happens: the train pulls in to the old platform and orders everyone off and they walk onto the center platform. Then they walk forward to the exit- the warning lights go off as the train that dropped them off continues on its way so people are correctly waiting for the train to clear before going right off the platform. BUT - almost every person recognizing the do not cross lights and bells believed this to be only for the obvious train clearing on the right and several people went left toward Target field despite the flashing signage and directly in front of the train coming off of the extension tracks to enter service. Every time the conductor had to honk and brake at people on the tracks.

Huge liability, just saying. This set up had better be temporary because it's only a matter of time.

This may be a dumb question, but will they be removing the current station once TFS opens?

It sounded as though they are leaving both operable - I believe to use at different times to separate blue and green riders? Not entirely sure. It would be ridiculous for a train to stop at both since they're separated by about 30 yards.

To give you a little perspective, this is essentially the busiest part of Seattle. When I was their, there weren't as many people. But this starbucks is next to a classy mall which is close to a ton of shopping. It's pretty cool to be honest.

After Saturday, all trains will exclusively use the Interchange (Platform 2), except after an event at Target Field, when one line will use Platform 2 and one will use Platform 1 (current TFS).

I don't mean to be rude but people.. would it really make sense to anyone to keep the current TFS? There was at least 1 person with an IQ above 100 when this was being planned.

God I just don't understand what's going on in this thread anymore.

Could someone give me an UrbanMSP Groupthink list of what we like and don't like about this, so I can make sure to fall in with the party line?

I don't really see a problem with it... It makes sense to have it for higher capacity at Twins games. If you've ever watched, it's worse than herding cattle. Is a two-platform station really all that rare?
