Anyone know what the story is with the missing windows on the skinny sides of the IDS? They've been gone for quite some time, and I worry they won't be coming back. It really detracts from the appearance of the tower.

I think this was covered before, but they replace a handful of windows every year. They'll be back.

They have vents in place of the windows. Makes me wonder if the current tenant needed some kind of venting so they removed the windows. It's been this way for a couple months now.

It'll probably sell for $25-$35 million more

The NE corner (Marquette Hotel) is getting some sort of raised patio or planter space. It's the area that used to have their monument sign and a few tables/chairs for the hotel bar.

They did this planter a few months ago. It had Christmas trees in it.

Crystal Court getting renovated. Losing its floor to ceiling fountain for an infinity edge reflecting pool. :/

Man that is really sad. Always loved seeing that fountain when walking though there

I like the new look! The new reflecting pool adds some seating and I like the other seating as well.

Were they having issues with the fountain? I'm wondering if that prompted them to make the design change.

Its been a while since I worked downtown, but IIRC it was constantly being repaired

Are there any fountains left inside any buildings that have moving water besides infinity pools like this or the Govt Center? I remember as a kid there were more and I loved seeing them. The Fountain at the IDS was always one of my favorites.

There was a really lovely one in Lasalle Plaza. Not sure if it's still there.
Personally mixed feelings about the redesign of the Crystal Court. I love the current fountain. I think it would have been better if they replaced the granite flooring with something else to brighten the space up. Even with the glass roofing - can get dark and dreary in there. Also don't like the layout. The fountain is way back from the main entrance off Nicollet. I think I would have liked it better if they would have had the fountain more centered with the trees and seating around it.

This looks like the trees stay where they are. Currently there are four benches that make a square planter around each tree. The new design has a more scattered seating.

I think the reason the fountain was away from the mall entrance is because it is in the tallest part of the atrium.

I notice the rendering doesn’t include the doughnut stand. I wonder if that is being removed.

I saw somewhere on Twitter that Bogart's Doughnuts did not renew their lease, which is unfortunate, but not terribly surprising.

Re: the trees, they're currently growing in above grade tree boxes surrounded by the benches. The new plan will somehow place the soil below the floor level. Also, the new trees are supposed to grow to a larger size than the current ones.

The remodeled Crystal Court is open as of today! It looks beautiful in my opinion, those benches were such an eye sore before.

Business Journal also reported that Roti has reopened there. That's more good news.
