Loring Greenway

Postby PhilmerPhil » September 24th, 2012, 4:26 pm

Just wanted to give a shout out to the Loring Greenway, a wonderful urban space that doesn't get mentioned much on here. A rare example of a 1970s urban renewal project that turned out successful and should be emulated throughout the city. (DTE?!)

Definitely agree, and I believe that in one of the planning sessions, it was recommended to create a series of "greenways" to unite the downtown neighborhoods - North Loop, CBD, Mill District, DTE. No definitive plans / date to begin. Just another study's recommendation to the city.

I am really excited about the stewardship the Greenway Association has taken in improving/maintaining the Loring Greenway. If you go to it's website - you can find plans for further improvements, including upgrades to lighting, installing additional signage, banners, etc.
