Included in their site map, Bing says a Romano's Marcaroni Grill is open in Gaviidae-

Maybe the new owner might be receptive to these new ideas? I can't imagine a company buying properties around the country sets out to own the ugliest buildings they can find.
Most owner will not care. They are looking at the large minimally interrupted floor space they have to rent out. Ugly or not this building will lease just because of the efficient floor plates.

Looks like the deconstruction phase of the Forum is over. When I looked in this evening I did notice what appeared to be some new construction going on in the center of the room. Has there been any indication as to an opening day yet?

Nothing miraculous, but definitely an improvement over the existing condition of that corner. I wish Sports Authority well in their new location. As far as the Forum, if they could somehow just open it up more so the interior is visible from the street, Maybe give it a Marquee etc.

It has a marquee, and a blade sign. Removing the mirrored glass and greening the edges of the patio would be more effective.

Kind of glad to see that happen. I think Shorenstein would have the best resources to really bring City Center back to life. I have to agree with Target's ability to get out of part of their leases had to be a blow to Shorenstein's hope for that extra 75 M in the purchase price. They would be smart to hold this property and invest some more into the podium while they wait for the office section to stabilize, or should I say Target's office needs to stabilize. They have a chance now to get the retail section on better standing and cash flow. I still feel that they need to reface the retail podium, but with the Nicollet side soon to be full of tenant's, it would cause greater disruption to those businesses that are just getting established in their new locations. The office portion is not going anywhere and has some of the most efficient floor plates in the city. If they can increase the value, cash flow, of the retail portion before the next sale they came make even more profit on their sale. Holding and shrewdly investing can bring the value up to closer to 300M in the future.

Updated? Is Kaplan even in there anymore? Unless I am mis-remembering, I could swear it had "For Lease" signs in the windows, no furniture, but still some graphics on the walls.

have they actually opened at the new location across the hall? I walked through on Friday and it didn't look like it was anywhere close to being done.

Not a tough decision. I refuse to patronize Taco Tony's establishments.
