It actually already looks a bit dated.

I don't get what they're going for there. It looks too muted and plain.

Is the mall still on track to wrap by fall of this year?

I just wondered the same on the mall thread. Even if it's done this year, there won't be any time for business to come back before the superbowl. I'm getting worried that we've gone past a tipping point. Any why so little progress? Why is the strib article ignoring the obvious fact that we just spent 2 years repaving and replanting a road with nothing to show for it but a ripped up central core and a bunch of empty storefronts? That's the real story IMO. The one we should be learning from.

I think people on University Avenue said the same thing around December '13.

Though we (unfortunately) won't have LRT under Nicollet after this.

I hope you're not serious. They've unexpectedly closed in Ridgedale and Rosedale in the past couple weeks.

I assumed Didier was being sarcastic... seeing as all the mall outlets closed, but at least the downtown outlet stayed open with a rebrand.

Cosi's went bankrupt nationally. It is in the process of being replaced by another restaurant.

Minnesota store in IDS... closed or renovation? Today it's cleared out and the glass is frosted over. I had noticed they had an inventory sale recently.

No renovation can save those poor bathrooms.

With Macy's closing, are they about to become the only bathrooms open to the public downtown? (Or maybe one of the transit hubs have some?)

My building has a public bathroom, but it's tucked away in such a way that you wouldn't know it exists unless someone told you.

Downtown is in serious need of actual public bathrooms. I worked at the DT Target for a brief window during college and that bathroom was a microcosm of society's ills and our failure to address them.
