I kinda want to just search "Things in Minneapolis" to see if I can find the list they copied.

I wonder if they're planning to expand further in Minneapolis? Most of the other locations on their site just specify the city name for non-Chicago cities, but under "Coming Soon", it says "Minneapolis - Uptown". I might just be reading too much into it.

Bofa has their window space wrapped in branding. Which is kind of nice to see action in the building finally.

Aside from the Guthrie & Mill City Museum, the rest of those things are actually pretty "close". Not really walkable obviously, but if you're thinking in terms of regionally significant destinations in Minneapolis within ~1 mile that a visitor/tourist would likely be checking out, that's a pretty good list (weird to include Children's Theater and not MIA itself though.)

Also, the Chain of Lakes is an obvious omission, but I can forgive them for not knowing how many people come to Minneapolis in the summer for the lakes themselves and not any man-made attraction. At least they didn't accidentally list anything in St. Paul...or include Mall of America ;)

What else would you include within 1-2 miles that could be considered a regionally significant destination?

The Florida locations all vaguely describe the area they are located in. Indy seems to be the exception by not having any further description.

From what I saw walking by the other day, it will be late May at least, if not sometime in June.

Walked by today on my way to Leather & Latte and the front doors were open and the dust was flying aroun on the inside. They have gotten a bit of work done now. Work men were all over the place , so I'm thinking a July opening at the earliest. They still have a bit of work to get done before the final occupancy approval.

Forget the pizza - how was Leather and Latte? I've always planned to go in but then I forget and another 6 months go by... is it mellow or a scene?

Like anyplace, depends on the type of people that are in there. I do mornings or afternoon which are generally about 3-6 people. Evenings can get a bit more crowded. They also have front and rear patio seating so you can hang outside and surf or talk. Their leather shop is quite a sight!! You will have a range in age groups, to leather groups, or recovery groups, and neighborhood people like me that go and hang there. LOL 2715 Hennepin.

Huh. I walked by and peered in the window on Friday, and while they're making progress, I would have thought they were more than three weeks away still. Cool.

It's not unusual for hospitality projects to have a ton of casework (booths, cabinetry, etc.) pre-fabricated off site, and as a result their interiors can get finished off in a real hurry.

I remember a Taco Bell being constructed...er, I mean "installed" in Lakeville many years ago, and I swear the two halves came in on a couple of wide-load semis. Set them in place on the foundation, run a bead of caulk down the seam, and voila. I specifically remember the tables and booths were pre-installed. I wonder who works in the Taco Bell Building Factory...

The Giordanos guys are still hoping for a July 14th soft opening, with the 15th as their grand opening. All will depend on the final inspection and occupancy certificate from the city.
