Pizza ovens have been fired up and sample pizzas have been given to some of the surrounding businesses to get some feed back. There seemed to be this morning an employee meeting when I walked home from my morning coffee at Leather and Latte. Word is still soft opening on the 14th and grand opening on the 15th if all goes as planned.

Wonder if Green Mill will reinvest in their space... and menu. It needs some "freshening up".

IMHO, Green Mill pizza (from the Uptown location) can stand up to the best Chicago deep dish pizzas on a good day. I love the fact that these two are so close to each other -- it's going to bring intense (and healthy) competition!!

Green Mill might see an initial drop in sales at first while the new kid on the block get a test run. But if its sales stay down and they don't rebound, which usually happens once people have tried and decided which is the best option/atmosphere. Green Mill may have to reinvest in their building and menu if the sales do not bounce back or growth is at a much smaller rate. With the neighborhood population on the rise I think there will be plenty of customers for both.

Anyone know if the soft opening is actually happening today? Tried calling and just got a message saying they're anticipating opening around July 15.

I tried to do the same. They had phone issues, but they are doing the soft opening and did a soft lunch today also. I'm going this evening for their soft opening. I saw people in there when I walk to Leather and Latte this afternoon.

Tonight it was closed for a private event. It opens to the public 6pm tomorrow. Basterds.

Has anybody been here yet? If so how's the food? Still busy?

I went a couple weeks ago - I actually quite enjoyed the food, but I'm a sucker for stuffed pizza. They had a good system for waiting for tables and for your pizza. You can put in your pizza order at the front desk and when your table is ready they can transfer that order to your table. They text you when your table is ready. We went for a short walk to Lake of the Isles and really had a pleasant time all around.

Went for lunch a few weeks ago. The lunch pizza was good and it didn't take long. Wasn't particularly crowded for lunch. Nice space too. I'd go back.
