A lot of talk about that snow flying :). The first floor is getting stone on the bottom of the store front window openings. Was all in and getting mortared this morning.
I remember last year with the Mozaic and the fact that we never really had any snow before the 1st of January. Seeing no many windows that were not in in the middle of November and december. THey must have had to get the crane returned by the first of the year because the week after Christmas all the windows were in and the crane was gone. Flux was the same thing, still putting floors up with me with images of 6 inches of snow filling the open area that would need to be shovels off. Again they were lucky last year that we had little if any snow and they got most of the building up before we had toi really deal with any snow. Snow came in Mid January if my memory is correct.

We just hardly had any snow at all last year, only around 23 inches, compared to an average of 45 to 50...and when we did it always melted. We had a few inches in Mid November, and then several inches the beginning of December. Just no "permanent snowcover". It was great for construction, and I liked it, but no good for the plants and trees. The average date for "permanent" snow cover in Minneapolis isn't until mid December...a lot of people like to exaggerate and say it is much earlier it seems :D Minneapolis actually only runs about a 70% chance of a "white Chrsitmas", with at least an inch of snow on the ground, if you look at historical averages. People just love to exaggerate what "normal" is. A huge pet peeve of mine. End weather fact rant!

In any event, I too am surprised they are taking so long to put windows in this. It has seemed ready for them for so long now.

When I went by this project the other day , I got the strong impression it was either stalled or cancelled.

I walk by almost daily, and while it seems to be slow going, they are pretty much always working on it. I assume windows should be coming soon...

That sounds hopeful. I really like this project and want to see the building rehabbed.

There are definitely crews there every morning when I drive by, I think with this building it might be a slow and steady rehab...

Windows were going in this morning!!!
On a adrive down Hennepin yesteday afternoon I saw that they had installed all the windows on the 3rd floor, at least on the sides facing Hennepin and Franklin. I could not see the west side of the building. The windows have an old multi-pane look that is very fitting for the building! Sorry no cam here to take pics, wish I did.

Great! I really like this project. It's going to liven up this intersection nicely.

They're building what i think is an elevator shaft and stairwell on North side, Windows are in on all but ground-
Right- There's always a dozen or so men there- I can see inside and what I see is a lot of nothing.

I walked by today and snapped a couple pictures. Looks like the middle and upper floor windows are in, but the main floor plate glass windows aren't installed yet. I can't wait to see the final look.
Does anyone know what will become of the former billboard box on the side of the building? It looks like it used to be a window that was filled in years ago?

The new windows look beautiful and fit perfectly for the era of the building.

Based on the brickwork that is there, the way they used soldier courses all along the bottom, it seems it was always meant as a detail to some sort of board. I thought somewhere in this thread someone mentioned it was going to become a specials board or something for the restaurant?

Lightweight trusses are stored behind liquor store, and they are filling in between deli, where post office was with dirt and some concrete walls. I'd assume that's where trusses will go

Most of the Window Framing for the first floor is in! Looks like they will have great period-esque windows; tall with clear story ones above.

I remember when he used to sell the "I'm just trying to sell real estate here" T-shirts at Burch's. He is a fixture on that building:)
