It makes me wonder how much access Elan Phase I and III residents will have to the central courtyard/accesses to the Greenway. I don't think ALL of that pool and courtyard are public, but if you lived there you'd want the amenities...

IF I'm right I believe that Phase I has it's own pool.

But they don't have greenway access doors like phase II does? I guess I'm wondering if the three buildings will operate together or not.

If they don't, it would seem (at least to me) that the Phase II building would be by far the most desirable for those who envision using the Greenway. And if you're living right on the Greenway, has to be a decent percent of the residents.

I was running down the greenway this morning, and I think Phase I just poured themselves a ramp down to the greenway.

Looks like more digging for footings here. Not sure how they plan to proceed as far as which building they will start with when they pour foundation for the underground parking.

Looks like that are now laying stonework for the north building. They have the east end done and working on the west end above the garage door. They have been doing some painting for the stucco that they have done on the west building. Light tans and medium browns. Long was to go before they get anyone in by July 1st. Maybe at best August 1st.

I like to refer to those gray apartments in the background as "the prison apartments". At first glance, you'd think they were some stucco junk thrown up in the 60s, but they actually date back to 1922! Upon closer inspection, they are fully made of brick, which has been covered in a hideous shade of gray. False balconies painted black finish off the prison effect, as they look like window bars. There could be a really attractive building hiding beneath untold layers of paint.

How difficult/expensive is it to remove layers of paint from a brick building like this? While I'm certain the owners are already charging more for rent than the place is worth, it would be great to see the paint removed and the landscaping spruced up to better blend with its new neighbors.

NEVER PAINT BRICK.
Can we get that written into a city ordinance?

I've been in several of the prison apts, they're in good shape inside. I don't think I've been in two with the same layout (though I've never been in two of the same stack), and while the rooms are a bit small, the layouts are efficient and pleasing and they have some decent built-ins. All in all, seems like a good value, though I'd hold off on signing a lease there for the time being.

Like the Lime, the 3 buildings will be connected by glass hallways on levels 2 thru 4.

Lots of damage, I believe to the roof and some possible scaffolding that might have fell into the buildings. The construction worker I talked with said they had damage and there was a lot of construction material that they use for roofing all around so they may have to reroof the north building.

I see that they have the west wall footing poured and curing on this project. They may end up having a good part of this up and closed in well before winter. We will have to see.

I'm not a developer and certainly not the developer of this project, but I'd assume that their goal would be to have the shell (incl. walls) substantially completed by winter.

Imagine how much different the construction industry must be warm weather cities where work can easily be done year-round...
