Walking home today I walked by and noticed that the Aldrich/29th St. corner is now very colorful. That are over 2/3 done with that corner. They also have started pouring sidewalks on 29th and Aldrich, They still have some painting to do on the Aldrich side of the building and balconies to hang. But I'd expect there to be people occupying units before the end of the year. Will have to see what part of the Lyndale building they start putting the colored panels on next. If it will start on 29th by the outdoor stairs or on the south side facing the VFW

FYI for those who don't read the Happy Hour topic and might be interested, the next UrbanMSP happy hour event includes a tour of this building.
RSVP to the Facebook event if you plan on attending the tour. I need a headcount ASAP. If you're not on Facebook, you need to tell me right now if you are going to attend the tour.

Thanks and hope to see your smiling faces at Herkimer on the 14th.

Looks like the VFW parking is open now. They have put up some other steel supports along Aldrich ave part of the parking lot wall and the one artistic screen has been removed. I assume that the screen and others maybe supported by those steel braces.

All the colored tiles are up on the NW corner of the Aldrich building. There are still cement board panels to get up and or painted on the Aldrich building. But I could easily see that section of the building ready for occupancy before the first of the year. That is unless you have to enter the building on Lyndale. If so, you are looking at spring to early summer.

So, I was cautioned against joining this forum at the meetup/happy hour (and I was the only person there without an account-- rectified), but I thought I'd say, one of the nifty things to learn about this place was that the first floor lobby/atrium/wevs will host a cafe bar that is open to the public. Immediately I feel more positive about the development and its "Tarts Welcome" sign.

Ryan, signing up for an account was the last thing you'll ever do.

Or the best thing I'll ever do. Frightening thought. In any case, snark on, Nick. ;)

Cool info about the lobby. How was the tour otherwise? I remember touring the Greco-financed Flux a couple years back and enjoying some of the things it had to offer. Is it similar to Blue/Flux?

The tour was more than I expected -- Several stops all over the building, complimentary aluminum cups with a free pint of beer, and the poor Greco rep took 90 minutes of questions about parking minimums and cost-per-square-foot.

Was surprised to see the Aldrich side balconies were up and mostly finished., with 2 hanging on he 29th side. I see that all but one panel of the decorative grill now up on the Aldrich side as well. I see the corner attachment pieces for the colored panels were being installed today on the 29th street side of the Lyndale building. So those should be in progress before Thanksgiving.

I plan to write to the Lime people to thank them for their hospitality. I was very surprised to see that they offered us drinks to carry around. The views of downtown and west along the greenway from the top floor lounge were fantastic! The Greco / Lime people are very friendly and answered all our questions.

Still finishing up on the balconies on the Aldrich side of the building. They are working at putting the corner and window channels up for the colored panels. No panels yet, but they hopefully are getting close to start putting them on the Lyndale portion of the building. More first floor interior walls are going up on the Lyndale building.

They have finally started putting up colored tiles on the 29th street side of the Lyndale portion of the building. Looks like most of the window and door framing on the ground floor are now installed. With a few windows actually installed too.

The tile looks awesome. Nice to see that they followed through with that.

Agree. Gives it flair. Lime's not just another generic apartment building.

I see the colored siding is going up on both the 29th street side and now on the south side too.
