When/if SWLRT, that will be a sweet spot for some privately-managed park-and-rides for USBank Stadium and beyond. Heck yes big ass ramp.

Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity ReStore will open later this summer in South Minneapolis at 2700 Minnehaha Avenue. The small improvement to this building's storefront it nice. It would also be great if they could spruce up that parking lot and landscape on the north side of the property, along the Midtown Greenway. At least just plant some trees...

Bummer. They ran parkway too, so you could get a beer/margarita with your movie or show. No more.

They'll probably pay their fine and keep going.

There will still be a place for mediocre non-authentic Mexican food in South Minneapolis!

Regardless of quality and authenticity, Pepitos rocks.
The problem with being an introvert online is that no one knows you're just hanging out and listening.

So accurate. What is the deal with these types of places? (Dominguez is another, slightly better one) Were they opened decades ago before Minneapolis had a significant Mexican population and before white people had tasted actual Mexican food? How are they still in business?

To be honest, a lot of people just don't care that much.

I like really good Mexican food. I like really good food, period. But there's just something about the chintz that comes with Pepitos that I absolutely love. That it's a 1/2 mile walk from home helps, sure. Now that I think about it, that's a huge part of the appeal. We probably wouldn't drive for Pepitos, but we'll definitely walk there. Any time of year.

I never understood why inauthentic foods are looked down on. If you like it, you like it. I like both (authentic and inauthentic) and fully understand the difference.

Agreed with the above. Dominguez is comfort food. Pepitos was comfort food in the 90s when I was growing up, back when they were better.

I believe that's exactly what it is. Anyone old enough to remember the Chi-Chi's and Esteban's chains? I grew up thinking that was actually Mexican food.
