The signage on The Walkway retail storefronts is stupid. You can only read the tenant signs while walking southbound. When facing northbound on the wide sidewalk, the "blade" style signs are blocked by the weird design of the building. It's confounding...and looks stupid.

Are they ever going to cover up (and/or repaint) the double yellow line on Girard there? The old, mostly faded lines are now just a few feet from the curb, making a lot of people thing it's a one-way there. I assume it is not meant to be a one-way, since it connects to both the Mozaic and Calhoun Square ramps. It's pretty cool how the streetcar rails and brick and protruding through the asphalt. This would be a great street to fully restore to that old look, rather than just laying down a new coat of asphalt.

Is this part of Girard proposed to be pedestrian-only? It should be. I guess McDonald's is the stumbling block. I agree that the old look of the street should be restored. Let's pay homage to our transportation past.

Why would it be ped-only? That new sidewalk is ginormous.

It actually serves as a valuable vehicle connection to get to the parking ramps.

Heading eastbound on Lake and want to park at Mozaic? Use Girard.
Heading westbound on Lagoon and want to park at Calhoun Square? Use Girard.

Making it historic-y (tracks and bricks) would both look great and encourage lower speeds, not that it's an issue here anyways, with the extra short block.

A woonerf would indeed be great.

I do understand the parking advantages so I wouldn't be crushed if it didn't happen but it seems an obvious candidate for pedestrianization because it is already so on the two adjoining segments.

For Mozaic it really isn't that difficult to go down one block to Fremont. The Calhoun situation seems trickier because forcing traffic to Hennepin could cause issues.

Really, I would like to see both Lake and Lagoon become two-way again. Lagoon can get pretty backed up at times but I don't think I've ever seen that kind of backup on Lake. Two-way operation could balance that situation some.

This should at least be considered when we build the Midtown line and also return 28th and 26th to two-way. :)

it's a part of the "girard meander" a pedestrian oriented street... but it's still meant to include vehicles

Does Stella's have any kind of view of downtown remaining after all of these new projects have gone up?

^^^Yes, a sign of the decline and fall of the Bro's and Bimbos era in Uptown. It all started with the opening of the new Walker Library. Now Mosaic 3. I've been waiting for this a long time.

I've wondered that too but from the location the downtown looks rather small so not really that much of a loss. I'm sure they will still do just fine.

I'm just jesting a little bit. But it's nice to see more diversity of activity going on in this neighborhood. The mega-bars have dominated this area too much over the last 15 years or so.

I was at Stella's "sky deck" a few days ago and there is no view of downtown. MoZiac is in the way. Still cool views though.

I'm confused (as usual), isn't the current Mosaic the 1st? wouldn't that make the up and coming Mosaic2? Where do we get Mosaic3 from?

the ramp was phase 1, the office space on top was phase 2, they were built at the same time. I guess this project is actually being called mosaic east anyways...

I am curious about what what is considered luxurious. I would consider most of uptown to be over-priced but that does not make it luxurious my any means.

I will go with calling heavy amenity laden apartments Luxury. Not that the apartments themselves have super luxury finishes. But that the perks you are getting with them is what is driving the luxury label.
