Yay? indeed.
FWIW I'm more likely to patronize this business than the one that was there before. I need a mattress. I don't have a car.

So what's the deal with 24** Lyndale, they demolished a house and are constricting something new, did that slip through the cracks, or is it just a sfh?

Interesting. I probably blocked it from my memory.

Re: Uptown General Topics & Development Map
Are those Sabri Turrets on the valleys of the gable end?
Re: Uptown General Topics & Development Map
Lol! If only that was a gable. Pretty sure it's just the stair access to the roof.
Re: Uptown General Topics & Development Map
Looks like the weird little retail building at Ridgewood and Lyndale may be getting a tenant -- there was a sign up for "Suite Box Beauty Studios" or something like that, which apparently is a rent-a-booth freelance salon. Although the sign said that it was going to be available starting July 25th, and there's no evidence that this is true.
Meanwhile, same crappy developer, any news on Le Paris? Besides the fact that it's a rapidly moldering away eyesore and firetrap?

Re: Uptown General Topics & Development Map
Is the whole building vacant? Or just the ground floor storefronts?any news on Le Paris?
Re: Uptown General Topics & Development Map
The entire building is vacant, and has had all of its exterior cladding ripped off because of mold issues. Exposed studs, temporary plastic covering that's been torn to shreds and is flapping in the wind. It's been sitting like this since last fall; no evidence of any work being done. I'm assuming that things are tied up in lawsuits, but it surprises me that the city hasn't stepped in and forced their hand.

Re: Uptown General Topics & Development Map
I'm a little surprised that greater Uptown isn't seeing additional proposals after the initial glut of redevelopment projects were completed over the past 1-2 years. Does anyone have a bead as to how those projects are filling/filled up?

Re: Uptown General Topics & Development Map
Vacancy rates were reported as being very low (~2%), at least as of several months ago. I have to assume Elan, et al are nearly 100% occupied at this time.
There is the fairly large Revel/Target project on the way. Then there's CPM's tiny little projects (1620, 1710) and medium-sized projects Laguna and 2811 Girard. Also, the two West Calhoun projects, which from a real estate standpoint is counted as part of the Uptown sub-market.
So a fair amount of construction is underway right now, but you're right that the future pipeline looks pretty dry after that. I can't think of a single residential proposal that has been floated, proposed, approved, etc. that is not already under construction. By all indications the market is still strong enough that Uptown could support more luxury units. I think the slowdown has more to do with lack of available sites than lack of demand. There are obviously plenty of sites that could/should be developed (well documented in this thread), but for whatever reasons are not being marketed for development by their current owners.
EDIT: There is the one Gunsbury project on the Greenway that is not under construction yet, but should be soon. And I guess there's Master's two potential Lyndale projects - FrankLyn (dead for now) and the Aldi one at 26th (who knows...) But I'm guessing min-chi-cbus meant closer to the core of Uptown, not 26th/Lyndale and Franklin/Lyndale.

Re: Uptown General Topics & Development Map
You're forgetting about Gerberding's 26th and Lyndale Aldi's proposal. The last iteration presented to the City Planning Commission Committee of the Whole in the spring had approximately 100 housing units. So a fair amount of construction is underway right now, but you're right that the pipeline looks pretty dry after that. I can't think of a single residential proposal that has been floated, proposed, approved, etc. that is not already under construction.

You're right. I edited my post to note that one and FrankLyn. Who knows if Master will actually get a project built this cycle though...

Wasn't there a proposal floated at one time to redevelop the Corner Balloon/Rinata/Woullett building? Whatever happened to that? I was really looking forward to it.

Re: Uptown General Topics & Development Map
There was a rumor (sourced from someone close to the property owner) that the property was going to change hands, and that total redevelopment was possible. I don't think things progressed beyond that. It appears the property did change hands in 2014, based on Hennepin County records. Boy, that $1M appraised value seems awfully low for a commercial strip on Hennepin. Granted, it sold for $1.5MM, but still
