Yep, and unless appealed, the decisions of the planning commission are final - no action by the City Council is necessary since there was no rezoning involved.

The developer responded to neighborhood feedback about setbacks and the architecture referring to the scale of nearby buildings. Fits in pretty well even though its larger than most everything around it.

I'm assuming the houses are gone already if they've started digging? I guess I haven't been over that way in the last few weeks because I can't recall them being gone.

I noticed a few boards on windows of one of the houses. So Demo must be coming soon. At least there is some working being done that shows this project will move forward.

Walked by today and saw that close to 3/4 of the basement walls are poured. The entrance to the basement garage will be from the alley and be on the west end of the building. Things should start moving out of the ground by mid August I would hope.

This now has a name and proposed address: Laguna Apartments - 2900 Irving Ave S

And apparently the Strib broke this news back in April and we all missed it: http://www.startribune.com/45-unit-lagu ... 300703951/ Must've fallen off their page immediately...though it's pretty easy to miss the real estate column

Since the redesign, it's nearly impossible to see posts in the blogs such as this (Just Listed) or others (e.g. Mpls) without going to that blog page. It seems there's also been a commensurate decrease in posts to blogs, especially by Eric Roper and others. It's sort of a shame.
