This was approved by the Planning Commission last night. The only changes were a few different conditions of approval regarding a material choice and a window which seemed to have already been worked into the plan by the developer. Sounds like Bergan's will be closing for demolition by September 1.

Great news. This will be an awesome addition to the neighborhood.

This is a decent proposal. Now if someone would just come along a build a remake of the old Dave's Popcorn that used to be on the opposite side of Cedar, the corner will be nearly perfect! The popcorn was perfect and even the long summer lines waiting to pick some up were fun.

That’s Tom’s popcorn and it’s still there. Dave’s was on 42nd St.

I used to find some value in the area nextdoor (I live in Northrop). These days I find the NIMBYs outshout the supporters of these things and I'd rather spend my energy elsewhere.

Minnehaha Scoop will be adding Dave's Popcorn here shortly. Minnehaha Ave/34th St E. They are currently remodeling their building to add the popcorn machine. Plus they have Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream, which is the best ice cream ever created! (I won't back down from this!)

Chocolate Shoppe makes most of Izzy’s ice cream. However Izzy’s provides the ingredients to them.

Daves was at 38th/Cedar and closed late last year. He sold the recipes and equipment to Minnehaha Scoop. You're thinking of Tom's Popcorn shop, which I believe is unaffected by this development.

Xcel was on sight this morning and the power lines to the building were cut. Demo has to be starting soon.

Perimeter fence going up today. Temporary curb cut for Cork Dork and Carbone's is in action.
