The St. Paul Port Authority purchased the former 3M campus and has been steadily demolishing and cleaning up the land for redevelopment.

"Nonprofits propose multicultural center at former 3M site in St. Paul"

Not really a great replacement of the jobs lost, but it would be fantastic to have something on this important property. I suggested already that they should consider consolidating some of the planned use into a taller building, but it's nice that they are putting the enormous parking lots behind the buildings and away from the streets.

Also sad to see a skyway there.

This location could be along the MetroTransit's planned East 7th aBRT. Also close to all the main route options for the RUSH line (which includes the aBRT concept).

So sad to see this area turned into a suburban-style industrial park with giant parking lots and setbacks.

The Volema companies currently have buildings on the West Side, so it's not clear if this is actually adding jobs to the city or just moving them from one neighborhood to another.
