Spruce Tree Center renovation

Postby at40man » January 26th, 2015, 9:57 pm

Call me crazy.,but -- I actually have always rather liked this building. I can't quite put my finger on WHY I like it, but I do.

I'm curious to see if there are any pictures of the interior from the time it was built. I seem to remember it being more mall-like when I was a kid. But my memory could very well be playing tricks with me.

I used to do physical therapy there a couple years ago. It is a little mall-like, at least on the first floor.

I really wish they would do something about the windows on the University side at ground level. It may as well be a big blank wall at the moment.

I know we all love to hate it, and it sure could use some streetscape improvements... but...
That building always appealed to me in some weird way when I was very young. It was so strikingly (post)modern in a sea of not.

I like it. Honestly, I'm generally a fan of weird-looking buildings. Could use some ground-floor entrances and windows, though.

I love it. Love.

The university side could easily be converted into store fronts.

Never thought this would be a contrarian opinion, but I think it's ugly as sin.

And I never thought I would be in the apparent majority by saying that this is definitely one of my favorite buildings along University.

The "Music & Book Landfill" building at Griggs and University with the art deco clocktower is by far my favorite, but this one isn't terrible
