Yes, I figured it had to have been The Stroll. I really want to meet that Andy guy! Seems like quite a character.
Nick, you should write a guest column sometime, as our very own Woofner once did: https://www.minnpost.com/stroll/2013/01 ... an-renewal

There was a core sampling truck parked at this vacant lot by the fairgrounds this morning:

That is the old Hermes Floral site. They moved to a new building a little closer to Snelling a while (year or two?) ago. I looked and can't find plans online.

I wasn't sure. It is *technically* in the suburbs, though I usually think of it as Saint Paul.
Re: Suburbs - General Topics
Meh, Saint Paul is our largest suburb so it can go here regardless

Probably better to just pretend that Falcon & Lauderdale don't actually exist. They might as well be St. Paul, given how often people mistakenly think they are.

Came across this project yesterday in New Hope. I used to live down the block. The Gates of New Hope are 32 units across the street from a McDonald's and a small strip mall at Medicine Lake Road and Hillsboro.

Funny, I don't see any gates. For that matter, I don't see any hope either. I do see some "new", I suppose.

Wouldn't they want to be near the FedEx and/or UPS local hubs, wherever those are? I feel like UPS is in Roseville? But I don't know about FedEx.

UPS is in NE Minneapolis. FedEx is nearby in Roseville, but moving to Lakeville.
(*edit: Fed ex is moving part of their facilities- http://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/b ... l?page=all. Of course they're both at MSP too.)

There are UPS distribution centers in Maple Grove, Minneapolis and Eagan. Fedex has one in Roseville and one in Mahtomedi, possibly more.

Article discussing the new apartments planned in Glen Lake in Minnetonka. The new plan has no retail and is next door to Gun Stop, where I have been many times.

I'm in this area often, as my brother lives just west of this area. I think this is a great reuse of the old True Value space and will really help brighten up the intersection. I hope this is approved.Article discussing the new apartments planned in Glen Lake in Minnetonka. The new plan has no retail and is next door to Gun Stop, where I have been many times.

Fedex has a satellite ground facility in Shakopee off 169 not too far from the proposed Amazon site, but I don't think it's a full fledged distribution facility. My packages often go there first before winding up in Roseville to be sent off to points elsewhere.UPS is in NE Minneapolis. FedEx is nearby in Roseville, but moving to Lakeville.

Re: Suburbs - General Topics
I wonder how the logistics of same-day delivery work -- there might not be much advantage from locating near a FedEx or UPS distribution center, since you'd basically want trucks going straight from the Amazon facility to customers.

Reviving the split level.

I try to not have sharp elbows, and stay level-headed in discussions. I try to keep the most open of mind for all points of view and see things from every angle. But a bit of confession here, I can barely contain my hate of split levels.
