The Star Tribune Editorial Board believes that if Rep Erik Paulsen supports SWLRT, than there would not be a slow down of funds.

Christ, if that's where we are...

Better to replace him with Dean Phillips. I wouldn't trust Paulsen to keep his word.

The Culver's location at Southwest Station is relocating to an outlot in the nearby Lund's & Byerly's parking lot. The current Culver's location is planned to be demolished for the SWLRT project, so this seems like an indication that ROW acquisition is moving forward, at least.

Surface Transportation Board has given Met Council the green light to acquire the railroad land.

So basically all that is left is a letter of no prejudice to start building with local funds, and then applying for the federal grant money.

Does that refer to the business thinking they might go under do to the construction?

What happened to the issue over the railroad historic district or whatever the hell it was called? The area that's just gravel pits, an impound lot, a train track, a trail, and a crumbling retaining wall.

Why were they required to dig only at Royalston and not other places, or the entire route?

Delayed by another 45 days for the contract since the FTA hasn’t issued the Letter of No Predijuce yet.

Ames Construction and Kraemer North America dropped out, leaving only the $799.5 million Lunda-McCrossan bid. Which is the cheaper one.

It's not great, but I'm more worried about the FTA dragging its feet.

Is the FTA even an agency where there's a way to petition or call to bother them into actually working?

FTA did their job at literally the last possible moment. Bid should be awarded tomorrow, construction will begin this winter.

It's happening!
